Funeral services for Lucinda “Cindy” Leigh Willis Coomer, 63, formerly of Wilson, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 27 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel, Wilson with Waylon Dancer officiating.

Interment followed in the Hewitt Cemetery, Wilson.

Born August 21, 1956 at Joplin, Missouri, the daughter of the late William “Bill” Almon Willis and Pauline “Polly” Ruth Allen Willis, she died Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Marietta. Cindy moved to Wilson during her sixth grade year, living beforehand at Gallup, New Mexico. She graduated from Wilson High School with the Class of 1974. Afterward, she moved to Wichita Falls, Texas where she attended business college. In 1992, she wed Jonathan Coomer and to this union, they were blessed with a child named Adam in 1995. Cindy resided at Fort Smith, Arkansas for a number of years before moving to Marietta in 2008 to be closer to her father Bill. She gained employment at WinStar as a casino attendant, where she was currently working. Some of Cindy’s life enjoyments were scuba diving and horses. She was a member of the Wilson First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jr. Willis; and former husband, Jonathan Coomer.

Survivors include her son, Adam Coomer of Austin, Texas; brother, Bobby Willis and wife Paula of Ardmore; aunts, Willa Murray of Joplin and Jeannie Alter of Bella Vista, Arkansas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family. Serving as casket bearers were friends and family attending the service.

Honorary bearers were Lowell and Denora Coomer, Randy Murray, Ron Murray, and Mike Murray.
