Services for Irene Bell, 88, of Marietta, were at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Gardner officiating.

Mrs. Bell was born January 11, 1912 at Post Oak, the daughter of Thomas and Ethel Moore Wilson.  She died March 13, 2000 at her residence. She had lived in Love County for the past 11 years, moving here from the Kingston-Buncombe Creek area.  She and Ivon I. Bell, Jr. were married on September 10, 1932 in Lawton.  He preceded her in death on September 13, 1997.  Mrs. Bell was a homemaker and a member of the Eastside Baptist Church of Marietta.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sue & Don Curry of Marietta; daughter-in-law, Helen Bell of Spokane, Washington; three brothers, Carl Wilson of Wilson, Cecil Wilson of Yukon and Dale Wilson of Hobbs, New Mexico; one sister, Juanita Mitchell of Turlock, California; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bell was also preceded in death by a son, Bill Bell in 1977; a daughter, Shirley Jean Bell in 1938; and four brothers.

Serving as pallbearers were Bill Bell, Ted Price, Caleb Kretzschmar, Charles Kretzschmar, Blake Jones and Ryan Owens.

Interment was at Hewitt Cemetery, Wilson, under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.
