The care of the cemetery at first was taken care of by the combined efforts of the community and the relatives of those buried at Frisco. Later, several families took on the job of keeping the cemetery mowed. The Powells, the Jess Griffin family, the Roy Halbert family and Derald Miller family are some of those remembered. Since 1945 at times and for the last 30 years, full time, Rayburn Schubnell and his family have kept the cemetery mowed and trimmed.

Old Soldiers at the grave of Daniel McLain in 1911

EL RENO AMERICAN - June 11, 1911
Not forgotten, on mile east and south of Richland are two mounds which mark the resting place of Daniel McLain of the 51st Colored Regiment, and his wife. D. McLain homesteaded the land at the opening of old Oklahoma. Comrade Colley plants a flag over his grave each succeeding Decoration Day.
The Decoration Day service at the Frisco Cemetery was attended by a large concourse of people. An excellent program was rendered. Songs and recitations until 12 o'clock, after a basket dinner the graves the veteran dead were decorated by a band of little girls. Capt. DeLong in charge of a firing contingent fired a military salute, gathering at the church which was crowded beyond its capacity, many being compelled to stand outside. Songs and recitations were rendered by the choir and others. Rev. Dr. Hooper of Oklahoma City delivered an address which was highly appreciated by the audience. The services closed by singing "God Be With You" and a benediction by Dr. Hopper.
