Laura F. Birchall, "Beebe" (aka Mrs. Ho-Ho) passed away August 19, 2010 in the company of her daughter and grandson after a long and difficult battle with Dementia.

She was born Jan. 13, 1923 in Tabor, IA, the oldest of 4 children born to Viola and Richard Bachler. She is a 1940 graduate of El Reno H.S. In 1944 she married Edward P. Birchall of New London, CT. They made their home in Oklahoma City and Bethany, where they raised six children. She and Ed were one of the founding families of St. Charles Catholic Church. As Ed established his career as Ho-Ho the Clown, she raised children, chickens, and vegetables. She established herself as a top selling Avon Representative, taught religious education for St. Patrick's, and was a telephone volunteer for Contact Crisis Hotline. She took to heart her beloved dad's idea, "You always help everyone to make sure you get the fellow who needs it." Throughout her life her home was open to loved ones who needed care -- lost boys, old women and struggling children.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Ed; 2nd husband, Oliver Cox; siblings: Bobbie and Jack Bachler; and grandson, Brandon.

Survivors include sister, Nancy Kaltoff, Topeka, KS; children: Bill, Edmond; Michael, Doha, Qatar; Sam, Regina, Dan, OKC; Charmagne, Austin, TX; 12 grand-children and 5 great-grandchildren.

Wake is 7:00 p.m., Tues., Aug. 24, at Buchanan Funeral Home. Requiem Mass 10:00 a.m., Wed., Aug. 25, Carmelite Monastery of St. Joseph 20,000 County Line Rd., Piedmont. Deepest appreciation to Clare Bridge Mem. Care and Full Life Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Alzheimer's Research, or Carmelite Monastery of St. Joseph.
