Bob, Bobby, Hagar, Big Bob, whatever you called him was bigger than life. Bob came into this life on December 9, 1955 and moved into his heavenly home on February 7, 2020. He was the first born of Robert Francis Havener Sr. and Norma Jean Porter-Havener. Bob lived his adult life with Kathryn Louise Farrell, which began on November 19, 1976. Bob and Kathy added to their nest, Trey and Krista. Then came the important ones, Jocelyn, Aiden, Sophia, Ella, and last, but not least Max. It would be a difficult challenge to label Bob just one type of person. He certainly was many things to all who know him. His love for his nieces and nephews was undeniable, since he was a big kid himself. He lived his life by the rule of “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” To some he would be a hero, while being a brother to most, whether by blood or love. There were times when he was an antagonist, or a protector. He always saw the funny side of life. He loved music, of any kind from Gospel Bluegrass to modern rock, with classic rock as his favorite. He despised Disco! As a Physician’s Assistant he saved an untold number of people. We cannot count the times we have heard, “If it wasn’t for Bob Havener, I would be dead, or he saved my child’s or spouse’s life.” These are only a glimpse of who Bob is. Bob had compassion beyond our understanding. It is clear to those who knew him, that the passion came from an inner peace that came from the One who created him. Bob has had the One who saved him and then instilled into him a natural gift of caring that is so rare today.

Bob is survived by his bride Kathy of El Reno; his son, R.F. (Trey) Havener Jr. and his wife Brandi of Yukon; and his daughter, Krista Havener of Florence, Colorado; his precious grandchildren, Jocelyn and Aiden Jenkins of Florence, Colorado, Sophia Bradley of Florence, Colorado, and Ella and Max Havener of Yukon. He will also be missed by his mother, Norma Havener of El Reno; his sister, N’Lisa Havener-Williams and her husband Steven of El Reno; his brother, Steve Havener and wife Sherry of Leedey; brothers in law, Greg Farrell and his wife Debbie of Kingfisher, Jeff Farrell and his wife Paula of Kingfisher, and James Farrell and his wife Jennifer of Kingfisher; along with many nieces and nephews and a whole slew of friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his dad, R.F. Havener Sr.; his in-laws, Joe and Betty Farrell; and his brother-in-law, Mark Farrell.

A service celebrating Bob’s life will be at 2:00pm on Tuesday, February 11th at First Baptist Church of El Reno under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home with burial following at El Reno Cemetery.
