Ellen Ruth [Sill] White
November 25, 1918 ~ April 14, 2008


Funeral services for Ruth White, 89, of Anadarko were held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the Assembly of God Church in Anadarko with Dr Jimmy White, Brother Don Stewart and Rev Carroll Smith officiating.

She was born November 25, 1918 to Thomas Franklin and Bertha Clay [Black] Sill in Hinton, and died Monday, April 14, 2008 in Fort Worth, Texas.

She grew up in the Binger and Hinton communities and was a graduate of Hinton High School.

She was united in marriage to James White on January 22, 1940 in El Reno. From this union were born four children, two sons and two daughters.

She accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at the age of 13 at Niles Community Church. She loved the Lord and was so thankful for all God has blessed her with, especially her loving family, who cared for her until the Lord called her home. She loved gospel singing and taught her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren to trust in God and they would all gather around the piano and have a wonderful time. She loved having company. She was known for her home remedies and funny sayings. She enjoyed doing all kinds of crafts and would teach others to make them. If she got a new pattern everyone got one. She enjoyed quilting and had made over a thousand quilts. She enjoyed playing dominos and cards with her friends.

She taught Sunday School class for ten years. She baby sat for over 30 years.

She was a nurses aid and worked in food service many years.

She was a very happy person who made the most out of life.

She lived in Anadarko from 1945 until 1 July of 2004, when her health began to fail and she lived with her two daughters.

She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Anadarko and also attended the Church of God in Anadarko, Oklahoa and recently joined the Lake Side Church of God in Fort Worth, Texas.

She touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Lorene Ferrell, four brothers, Ted, Thurman, Howard and Clarence Sill, one great great grandson, C. J. White and a great great granddaughter, Elise Chavey.

She is survived by two sons, Arthur White and wife, Linda of Pensacola, FL and Robert White and Gail of Chickasha, two daughters, Juanita White of Fort Worth, TX and Barbara Edwards and husband, Gary of Chickasha; grandchildren, Jimmy White and wife, Renata, Robert White Jr and wife, Tammy, Tricia Cutts and husband, Don, Ronald White, Mylon Edwards and wife, Jana, Chris White and wife, Teffany, Dennis White, Jeff White, Brian Edwards, Rusty Edwards and wife, Allison, Travis Edwards and wife, Amy, Lana Wells and husband, Ronnie, Scott Coley and wife, Laurin, Jason Coley and wife, Stephanie and Chris White and wife, Jennifer; 19 great grandsons; 15 great granddaughters, three great great grandsons; one brother, Ralph Sill and wife, Mary Lois of Springfield MO; and one sister, Alta West of Olatha, KS.

Burial was in the Binger Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Anadarko.
