LaVonna Ann Weller
January 10, 1944 ~ April 5, 2011


LaVonna Ann Weller, 67 of Binger, Oklahoma, was called home by the Lord on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the Comanche Memorial Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma.

She was born January 10, 1944 to Henry and Alice [Murrow] Weller in Lawton, Oklahoma.

She was a graduate of the Binger High School. She went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in English from Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma.

She worked as a student counselor at the University of Oklahoma and the University of Colorado. She then graduated from Penn State University in State College, Pennsylvania with a Master's Degree in Education. She worked for the BIA in Washington, DC for twenty plus years in Education Administration.

Prior to her retirement in 2004, she was a BIA Education Specialist for the Eastern Area Tribes. She enjoyed traveling, she loved traditional dancing and rock and roll, was a good seamstress, enjoyed writing and was a great story teller. She touched many lives. She was very active in community activities.

She was a very kind and compassionate young lady who loved life and lived it to the fullest. She contributed to many charities.

Although she never married or had children of her own she was known as Auntie and Grandmama.

She was a member of the Caddo Nation and an active member of the Catholic Church.

LaVonna will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was God mother to, Hankie [Poafpybitty] Ortiz of Montgomery Village, Maryland, Weston Weller of San Francisco, CA, Maria Weller, Jake Weller and Max Weller all of Tulsa, OK, Logan Supernaw of Lookeba, OK and Lydia Wallace of New York State.

She is survived by one brother: Newton "Sonny" Sewell of Dallas, TX, two sisters: Lacreda Daugomah of Lookeba, OK and Suzie Weller Arellano and husband, Oscar of Binger, OK Numerous grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry & Alice Weller, infant "Baby Boy" a little sister, Mary Ellen Weller and one brother, Warren Weller.

Prayer service will be starting at 7:00 P.M., Friday, April 8, 2011 @ the Caddo Complex-Binger, OK followed by an all night wake.

Funeral services will be at10:00 A. M., Saturday, April 9, 2011 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Anadarko, OK
Officiating: Father Chinuupa
Burial will follow in the Murray Cemetery, Binger, OK under the direction of the Binger Funeral Home, Binger, Oklahoma.
