Ikey Lee Wauqua
June 22, 1953 ~ June 8, 2015


Ikey Lee Wauqua went to his heavenly home on Monday, June 8, 2015, in Anadarko.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2015, at Indian Capital Baptist Church in Anadarko with the Rev. Thomas Worcester officiating.

Burial will follow at Murray Cemetery in Binger under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home, Lawton.

Ikey was born in Lawton to Ikey Reese and Etta Mae Whitebead. He grew up and attended school in Lookeba-Sickles.

He was a member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma and also of Caddo Descent.

He attended Caddo Baptist Church and various other Baptist churches.

Ikey was an artistic person, mechanic and was a "jack of all trades."

Ikey was proud to have served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He is survived by: daughter, Stephanie Keener and husband Kyle, of Lookeba; son, Jeffrey Wauqua and wife Jennifer, of Choctaw; two grandchildren: Kayli Keener, of Lookeba, and Caleb Wauqua, of Choctaw; four sisters: Barbara Avants and husband Ron, of Bakersfield, Calif., Shirley Gouge, of Anadarko, Vickie Wauqua, of Coeburn, Va., and Brenda Edwards and husband Jim, of Weatherford; and one brother, LaWayne Wauqua and wife Minnie, of Holdenville.

He was preceded in death by: spouse, Mamie Wauqua; father, Ikey Wauqua; parents: Roscoe and Etta Shemayme; sister, Beverly Rafferty and brother, Reese Wauqua. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
