Betty L. Smith Tidwell
June 26, 1938 ~ May 13, 2018


Betty L. [Smith] Tidwell was born on June 26, 1938 to Jennings Bryan and Nannie Mae [Gregory] Smith. She passed away May 13, 2018 in Chickasha, OK at the age of 79.

Betty attended OKC Public Schools.

She married Paul Tidwell on August 7, 1954 in Yukon, OK. They moved to Bakersfield, CA and lived there for 58 years. She worked as a manager for Smith's Bakery in Bakersfield, CA for 28 years. They moved to Binger, OK in 2002.

Betty loved traveling, traveling all over with Nationwide American Mountain Men. She was known for her Santé Fe skirts.

Betty believed in Christ, was a retired member of the UFCW-United Food & Culinary Workers Union.

She was an excellent cook, a loving wife, was passionate about her family.

Betty and Paul loved to shoot their guns, and Betty was an excellent marksman, winning many awards. She loved to play the Moon Tournaments, hosted domino tournaments, and loved playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jennings and Nannie Smith, siblings, Joyce Green, Gerald Smith, Wayne Smith, Gary Smith, Pat Smith, and Jack Smith.

Survivors Include: her husband Paul Tidwell of Binger, OK, Steven Paul Tidwell of Atascadero, CA, and Robert Wayne Tidwell and wife Angel of Bakersfield, CA, 6 grandchildren, Les Tidwell, Neil Tidwell, Alex Tidwell, Shaun Tidwell, Brittany Rodella and husband Andrea, and Mackenzie Tidwell, 3 great grandchildren, Sequia Tidwell, Massimo Rodella, and Cesare Rodella, siblings, Carolyn Sue Johnson of Yukon, OK, and Stephen Smith and wife Biddie of OKC,OK, sister in law, Linda Smith of Bethany, OK, special thanks to our Oklahoma Angel, Lacinda Dawson, as well as many other relatives and friends.
