Helen [Murrow] Tate
September 14, 1914 ~ April 9, 2003


Helen Murrow Tate, 88, of Gracemont, Oklahoma passed from this life April 9, 2003 at Silvercrest Nursing Home, Anadarko, Oklahoma. Helen was born September 14, 1914, in Binger, Oklahoma to Ralph and Ellen Murrow.

She was a graduate of Binger High School. She was an OU - OSU fan and loved to go to all types of sporting events.

She met and married Floyd M. Tate, August 23, 1936. To this union was born Elwyn John Tate and years later adopted son William H. Tate.

They farmed east of Gracemont for 50 years.

When they retired in 1975, they started extensive travels to Europe and the Holy Lands. They took many traveling trips in their R.V., with their family and friends.

She loved to go to Pow-Wow's. She enjoyed cooking for people and events. She enjoyed sewing and exhibiting her work in the Indian and County Fairs and won many ribbons. Helen enjoyed playing card games and hand games. She was a member of the Caddo Tribe, Gracemont United Methodist Church, Spring Creek Home Demonstration Club and the Gracemont Rebekah's.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters: Grace, Alice and Melva, two brothers Tillman and Jesse. She was a very generous and strong lady and will be greatly missed by all her knew and loved her. Survivors include: 2 sons, Elwyn John Tate and wife, Nelda, Oklahoma City, OK, William (Bill) Tate, Okarche, OK; 3 grandsons: Brent Tate and wife, Paula, Oklahoma City, OK, Eric Tate and wife, Patti, Gracemont, OK, Ryan Tate, Oklahoma City, OK; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews. Services: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2003 Gracemont United Methodist Church, Gracemont, Oklahoma. Officiating: Rev. Virgil Payne and Rev. Charlie Watson. Serving as pallbearers will be: Larry Winchester, Edward Slemp, Newton Sewell, Gerald Tate, Orville Tate, Jr., and Darrell Mollett. Honorary pallbearers will be Brent Tate, Eric Tate and Ryan Tate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gracemont United Methodist Church, Gracemont, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in the Binger Cemetery, Binger, Oklahoma under the direction of the Smith - Hackney Funeral Home, Anadarko, Oklahoma.

El Doris Elizabeth "El Dea" [Reese] Tate
July 10, 1937 ~ May 28, 2019


El Dea Tate, 81, of Oklahoma City passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early afternoon on Tuesday May 28th at Heritage Point Memory Care after a life filled with love and laughter.

El Doris Elizabeth Reese was born on July 10th, 1937 in Henryetta, OK to Leslie Reese and Opal [Smith] Reese.

After graduating from Binger High School, she married Donald Buck Tate on June 4th, 1955 in Wheeler, Texas. In 2002, she married Joe Ed Tate 21 years after her beloved Donald’s passing. Along with her husband, she owned Tate’s Food Market on NE 23rd St in Oklahoma City.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Tate.

She is survived by her 2nd husband, Joe Tate, her children D’Liza Wilkerson, Danny Tate, and Franna Elmore, and her siblings Kathryn Land, Joe Reese, and Elton Reese. She was the grandmother to five grandchildren: Amanda Wilkerson, Sarah Hammack, Reese Davis, Abby Ku, and Hazel Tate.

She will be laid to rest at Binger Cemetery in Binger, OK.

William Herbert Tate, 62, passed away in Oklahoma City, OK on May 29, 2021. He was born in Lawton, OK. Bill was raised by Floyd and Helen Tate in Gracemont, OK.

Bill loved OU sports.

He and his family traveled to Pow Wow dances on the weekends. He loved dancing and participating. Bill loved his family.

Preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Helen Tate.

Survived by his: Brother, John and Nelda Tate, Gracemont, OK, Nephews: Brent & wife Paula Tate, Luther, OK, Eric & wife Pati Tate, Gracemont, OK, Ryan Tate, Gracemont, Ok, Nieces: Lynnicia Dunn, OKC, OK, Nephew: Jason Wilkie, Edmond, OK, Great Nieces and Nephews: Conelly Dunn, Caitlyn Dunn, Miller Wilkie, Myah Wilkie.

Joshua Winfred Tate
June 15, 1988 ~ November 16, 2014


Joshua Winfred Tate was born on June 15, 1988 in Ft. Worth, TX to Jay Winfred Tate and Laura Ann Pryor. He passed away on November 16, 2014 in Sayre, OK at the age 26.

Joshua graduated from Binger High School in 2006.

He enlisted in the Oklahoma Army National Guard as a fire directions specialist. He was in the 1st Battalion, 158th Field Artillery, Oklahoma Army National Guard serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. He deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2009 and Operation Enduring Freedom in 2013. He was awarded posthumously to the rank of Sergeant and his award consisted of The Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal W/Campaign Star, Iraq Campaign Medal W/2 Campaign Stars, Global war on terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal W/M Device, Non-Commissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Oklahoma National Guard Long Service Medal, Oklahoma Good Conduct Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation. He has worked for B&K Equipment as an area service manager for 3 years.

Josh loved singing, playing the guitar, noodling, snakes, outdoors, hog hunting, playing volley ball, swimming, and most of all, play, sing, and spending time with his family. He attended Binger Baptist Church. Josh had an unreal passion for life; he was a gentleman, had true character, knew how to trust people, and was a truly genuine one of a kind person.

Survivors Include: his parents; Laura and Russell Daniel of Binger, OK, and Jay and Sharese Tate of Oklahoma City, OK, his fiancé, Ashley Lodermeier of Binger, OK, his grandparents; Jerry and Sue Tate of Carnegie, OK, Lewis Pryor of Ft. Worth, TX and Iona Pryor of Ft. Worth, TX, Patricia Alexander of Oklahoma City, OK, Jimmie and Sue Daniel of Binger, OK, great-grandparent; Christine Morgan of Ft.Worth, TX, ; Siblings: Jay Tate, Larissa Tate, Lacey Tate, Shelby Tate, Caleb Daniel, Stephanie Roper, and Sydney Whittaker, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparent, Jim Alexander, his great grandparents, Rufus Morgan, Geneva Tate, Clemeth Fridel, Eula Mae Pryor, Ruth Elliott, Vernon Daniel, Alphie Daniel, and Winfred Tate; his brother, Jody Tate, and Uncle, Kenny Daniel.
