Everett Earl Scott
March 27, 1920 ~ January 26, 2014


Everett Earl Scott, 93, was called home by the Lord on January 26, 2014 at the Binger Nursing Home. He was born March 27, 1920 to George Elmer and Rosa [Query] Scott in Binger, Oklahoma.

Everett and all five of his brothers served in the Military during WW ll. Everett was in the US Marines, Paul the Coast Guard, Eugene, Melvin served in the Army-Air Force and Purvin served in the US Army.

After WW ll Everett went to Oklahoma City to finish High School and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Mastor's Degree in Mathematics. He worked at Yosimite National Park for Arizona Bureau of Public Roads. He worked as a Surveyor and helped build roads through the Alpine, Ca Mountains. He taught English while in Nicaraguea, Cambodia.

He met and married the love of his life, Verawan on August 22, 1968 while in Thailand from this union was born one son, Scotty who was their pride and joy.

He returned to the United States to live in Bremerton, WA and worked for the US Navy OICC as a Civilian Engineer. Then moved to Fernadina Beach, Florida and worked at St. Mary's Base. He retired after working in the Navy for 36 1/2 years.

Everett and his family moved to Moore, Oklahoma to start his retirement. After one year Everett moved with his family back to Binger to be closer to his parents and his family.

Everett, Scotty and three hired hands helped build their log home that he designed and completed in two years. Everett was Councilman in Binger took office as Mayor. He worked with OSU Extension office grafting trees. He then worked with Caddo Co Solid Waste Authority in Anadarko and worked on the Binger Cemetery Board several years. He also was Commander of the local American Legion. Everett never met a stranger and always took time to lend a helping hand to others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Rosa Scott, four sisters, Glaydis, Oma, Nora and Delores, five brothers, Bill, Paul, Howard, Eugene and Leonard.

He is survived by his loving wife, Verawan of the home, one son, Scotty and wife, Kim of Binger, two adorable granddaughters, Hannah and Kayla, two brothers, Melvin Scott and wife, Margie of Eakly and Purvin Scott, one sister, Virginia Russ of Eakly, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Binger Baptist Church, Officiating is Rev. Mark Price. Military Honors will follow in the Murray Cemetery in Binger, Oklahoma, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Anadarko, Oklahoma.
