Travis Lee Russ
May 14, 1928 ~ January 31, 2012


Travis Lee Russ, 83, of Eakly, Oklahoma was called home by his maker on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 in Weatherford, Oklahoma. He was born May 14, 1928 to John H. and Mabell [Burkhart] Russ in Sulphur, Oklahoma.

He attended Sickles School.

He was a farm labor'er for several years.

He was united in marriage to June Bright in1950, from this union was born three children. He was united in marriage to Virginia Scott Taylor on April 13, 1987 in Shamrock, TX from this union he gained three more children.

He retired from Grondyk Trucking after many years of dedicated service.

His greatest love was for his family, especially the grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, going to the casino's and especially enjoyed aggravating Virginia. Travis will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by; his wife, Virginia of the home two sons: Dale Russ and wife, Kathy of Iowa, Everett Taylor and wife, Sharry of Swan Lake, OK, step son: Alfred Russ and wife, Carol, two daughters: Kim Broomfield and husband, Roger of Gracemont, OK, Terrie Wylie and husband, Wess if Amarillo, TX, step daughter: Sherry Sandal and husband, Don of Amarillo, TX twenty one grandchildren, forty five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and one on the way.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Lloyd, Havis and Boss, one sister, Velma, two step daughters, Brenda and Oleta and one son, Melvie Bright.

Services are 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 3, 2012 at the OakDale Baptist Church. Officiating is Rev. Guy Walker, services are under the direction of the Binger Funeral Home in Binger, OK. Burial will follow in the Murray Cemetery, Binger OK under the direction of the Binger Funeral Home in Binger, OK

Virginia Irene [Scott] Russ
February 13, 1935 ~ October 19, 2018


Virginia Irene Russ, 83, passed away on Friday, October 19th, 2018 in Binger, Oklahoma. She was born on February 13th, 1935 in Binger, Oklahoma to George and Rose [Query] Scott.

She graduated from Binger High School.

She married L.J. Taylor on November 19, 1949 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. To this union four children were born; Oleta, Brenda, Dewayne and Everett Jay. They all preceded her in death. She later married Travis Russ on April 13, 1987.

She worked at Hollytex in Anadarko from 1971 to 1981 and then worked at 3-M in Weatherford for 15 years and retired in 1996.

She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and golfing,

She was also a beauty operator in Binger for 10 years.

Her greatest joy was her family and providing for them.

She was a member of the Oakdale Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters; Gladys, Nora, Oma and seven brothers; Bill, Paul, Howard, Eugene, Melvin, Leonard and Everett.

She is survived by one brother Purvin Scott, Colorado Springs, CO. One sister-in-law, Margie Scott and her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
