Lonnie Joe Harper
August 10, 1946 ~ September 10, 2020


Lonnie Joe Harper, 64 of Anadarko, Oklahoma, was called home by the Lord on Friday, September 10, 2010 at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born August 10,1946 to Clarence Albert and Betty Jane [Daugherty] Harper in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He graduated from High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He was inducted into the United States Army on May 26, 1966 and received an honorable discharge on May 25, 1972. Lonnie was a Staff Sargeant and a Vietnam Veteran. He was proud to be an American.

He was Floor Supervisor for Hollytex Carpet Mill in Anadarko, Oklahoma for over 28 years.

His greatest love was for his family, whom he loved dearly. He enjoyed family, history, computers and fishing when he was able. Lonnie had a great sense of humor. He loved the holidays and the decorating for each holiday season. He loved to care for his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He attended the Church of God whenever he could. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife: Nancy of the home, Three children: Lana Brewster and husband, Rocky of Oney, Oklahoma, Tama Gilbreath of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Carl Taylor and wife, Gina of Anadarko, Oklahoma, Grandchildren: Amanda Owings, Ricky First and wife Kayla, Haley Brewster, Jessica Steele, Galen Gilbeath, Glenndon Gilbreath, Carley Taylor, Chance Taylor, Mandi and husband Josh Hawkins, Mitchell Curtis and Taralyn Curtis, Great grandchildren: Kayden, Riley, Tanner, Trenton Owings, Grant First, Jamie, Jayla Steele, Justise Camp and J. J. Camp, Seven children from prior marriage: Denton Harper, Valori Coe, Melissa Harper, Meloney Harper, Mary Arellano, Ethan Harper & Lowell Mitchusson, Brother, David Adair & wife, Glenda of Owasso and their children, Amy & Amber, Two sister-in-law: Imogene Sitton of Binger, Oklahoma and Donna Taylor and husband, Bob of Hinton, Oklahoma, Mother-in-law: Faye King of Binger, Oklahoma Close friend, Tommy Fisher , One special niece, Gayla Stephenson of Binger, Oklahoma , Many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends

He is preceded in death by infant son, his mother, Betty Harper, his father, Clarence Harper, step father, Russ Adair, step dad, Milford Faulkner, brother in law, Charles Sitton, father in law, Louie King and sister in law, Opal Bird.

Services: 1:00 P. M. Tuesday, September 14. 2010
Church of God in Binger, Oklahoma

Officiation: Rev. Ron Nelson

Burial will follow in the Murray Cemetery-Binger, Oklahoma, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home-Anadarko, Oklahoma.
