Lena Mae [Belt] Blackburn
August 17, 1919 ~ June 6, 2010


Funeral services for Lena Mae Blackburn, 90, of Anadarko will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, at the First Baptist Church, with Dr. John Cahill, Hospice Chaplain and Billy Jo Loller, pastor of Carter Baptist Church and former associate pastor of Anadarko First Baptist Church, officiating.

She was born August 17, 1919, in White Oak, Ark., to Art and Lottie [Nichols] Belt.

She passed from this life on Sunday, June 6, 2010, in Chickasha.

The family moved to Oklahoma when Mrs. Blackburn was 10 years old. They lived in the Cogar area and she attended Purgatory School and Spring Creek School.

She and C.E. "Buck" Blackburn were married on July 11, 1941, in Anadarko, and they lived near the Binger "Y" until moving to Anadarko in 1948.

They built their home on Country Club Road in 1953.

She was a dietician at the Anadarko Municipal Hospital and retired in 1986.

Later she and Buck ran a cafe and bait shop at Fort Cobb.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Buck, son Franklin Blackburn, daughter Mary Jo Jorski, son-in-law L.D. Elrod, four brothers J.D., Junior Lee, Lavern, and Bill Belt and one sister, Ruth Kelly.

Survivors include her children, Christina Owen and son Bobby, Phillip "Bo" and wife Rolanda Blackburn, all of Anadarko, Linda McCarthy and husband J.J., and Diana Elrod, all of Norman, Jim Jorski and wife Pat of Harrah; grandchildren, Duwayne Owen and wife Teena, Michael Owen, Lori Sneed and husband Todd, all of Anadarko, John Owen and wife Shaney of Moore, Sonny Tsatoke and wife Andrea of Sacramento, California, Terra Ruth Argo and husband Barrett of Moore, Tommy Powell and wife Staci of Redding, California, Steve Powell and wife Brenda of Norman, J.J. McCarthy and wife Jennifer, and Alicia Knigge and husband Mark, all of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Bryan Elrod of Norman, Audrey Ridgway and husband Dustin of Purcell, and Jeff Jorski and wife Melissa of Avinger, Texas; great grandchildren, Michelle and Michael Hall, Jennifer Wilson, Heather and Luke Dolch, Kaylee and Kolton Sneed, Ashley Codopony, Dale and Vanessa Owen, Stuart Owen, Tawnni Powell McCarthy, Ella and Keira McCarthy, Evan Knigge, Britney and Brianna Powell, Dylan, Blake and Grant Ridgway, Jarrod, Zach and Callie Marie Jorski; great great grandchildren, Stetson Hall, Kilee Mae, Jessica, Ethan, Braylee and Denton Dolch, Kayleigh Wilson, Dylan and Cheyanne Owen; sisters Melva Jean Klusmeyer and husband Calvin of Cogar, Lula Metheny and husband Albert of Boise, Idaho, Pauline Tannery of Lawton and Marie Davis of Binger; sisters-in-law. Dillian and Aubrey Blankeship of Yuba, Calif, Ramona Rich of Weatherford, Wanda McCollum of Binger and Thelma Blackburn of Anadarko; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, other relations and many loving friends, including her best friend, Opal Weaver.

Burial will follow in the Murray Cemetery at Binger.

Viewing at Steverson Funeral Home until 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until noon on Wednesday.
