Betty Smith

Betty Smith grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and graduated from high school there.

After spending a year in California, she returned to Kansas City and worked in a meat packing plant.

She attended a USO dance where she met her future husband, Robert J. Smith. They were married in Kansas City, Kansas on 8 June 1946.

They came to Anadarko and she worked for 2 years at the Redskin Theater. She and Bob have owned and operated the Smith & Sons Building Center, along with their sons, since 1979.

Betty was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church since her arrival in Anadarko.

Preceded her in death were her parents, her husband, Bob, on 1 May 2002, a sister and a brother.

Survivors include 2 sons, Larry Smith and wife Coyetta, and Gary Smith and wife Cookie,; 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; 2 brothers, 1 sister, 3 sisters-in-law, Betty Millwee of Fort Cobb, Billie Long and husband Bill, and Joy Hamilton, all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma,

The wake will be at 7:00 p.m., Monday, 16 January 2006, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, 17 January 2006, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery.
