© The Anadarko Daily News 7 Feb 2011 Donald Gail Rider Don Rider, 51, of Anadarko, Oklahoma was called home by the Lord on Monday, February 7th, 2011 in Anadarko. Donald was born December 12, 1959 in McAlister, Oklahoma. His parents are Gail & Lafon [Kniffin] Rider. He attended school and graduated from Anadarko High School. He went one semester of college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. He decided to come home and work with his father in the family business, Shamrock Service Station. Don soon took over the business and operated it for 2 years then started his own mechanic business where he still continued to work.< He married Lisa Gragg in 1981 and from this union was born a daughter, Tory. He later married Tammy Elms and to this union was born a son, Trevor. Don enjoyed playing musical instruments especially the guitar. He could listen to a song then turn around and play it. Don loved anything with wheels, especially fast ones. From the time he was a little boy until now, he would take apart cars and put them back together. Don was an excellent mechanic and took great pride in his work. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and had made a profession of his faith in Christ. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Don is survived by his daughter, Tory Crawford & husband, Kent of Chickasha, Oklahoma; son, Trevor Rider of Chickasha, Oklahoma; parents, Gail & Lafon Rider of Anadarko, Oklahoma; 2 granddaughters: Mylie & Adlee Crawford of Chickasha, Oklahoma; many other loving relatives and friends. Don is preceded in death by his grandparents. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 11, 2011 at Bethel Baptist Church, Anadarko with Rev. Kent Crawford & Rev. Glenn Alley, officiating. Burial to follow in Memory Lane Cemetery, Anadarko, Oklahoma under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Anadarko, Oklahoma. |
