Nathalie "Jane" [Short] Palmer
May 28, 1915 ~ September 25, 2012


Nathalie "Jane" Palmer, 97 of El Paso, Texas, former Anadarko resident, was called home by the Lord on September 25, 2012 in El Paso, Texas.

She was born May 28, 1915 to William Juel and Estell [Massey] Short in Duncan, Oklahoma.

She was united in marriage to William O. Palmer. They owned and operated Little Lord & Lady Shop in Anadarko in the 1960's, he preceded her in death after sixty years of marriage in 1995.

Jane will be terribly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Carole Anderson and husband, Danny of El Paso, Texas. two sons, Keith Palmer of Anadarko, OK and Steve Palmer and wife, Norma of Garland, Texas, nine grandchildren, Cathleen Anderson Collins, Clay Anderson, Stephanie Yeo, Pamela Walters, Vanessa Palmer, Lindsay Palmer, Christopher Palmer, Todd Palmer and Clint Palmer, six much adored great-grandchildren, Samantha, Ryan, Emory, Evan, Payton and Jade.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one daughter, Cheryl Walters.

Service's will be Monday, October 1, 2012 at Smith Chapel, in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Rev. Ted Mercer.

Burial will follow in Memory Lane Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Anadarko, Oklahoma.

Dixon Tsain~Say~Hay Palmer
September 20, 1920 ~ March 3, 2011


ANADARKO - Dixon Palmer, an artist, dancer and tepee maker, died Thursday, Kiowa Black Leggings Society spokesman Patrick Redbird said.

Palmer, 90, died in Anadarko.

He was known for making replicas of historical tepees, and his work was featured at the Southern Plains Indian Museum in Anadarko.

In a 2003 interview, Palmer said he had made nearly 300 tepees during his life. His work was inspired by family.

Palmer was self-taught in the art of tepee making.

Redbird said Palmer was a leader of the Black Leggings Warrior Society.

Palmer also appeared at events across the state, including a 2002 graduation ceremony at the University of Oklahoma.

He made a tepee that was exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution. His tepees also were housed at museums in Indiana and Minnesota and at the University of Miami.

Imogene [Bosin] Palmer
January 3, 1923 ~ June 3, 2016


Our beloved Imogene Bosin Palmer returned home to be with the lord on June 3, 2016 at age 93. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Prayer service will be held at 7:00pm Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Smith Funeral Home in Anadarko with Pastor Damon Smith officiating.

Funeral services will be at 11:00am Wednesday, June 8, 2016 also at Smith Funeral Home with Rev Andrew Ware officiating.

Burial will follow at Memory Lane under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Imogene was born January 3, 1923 in Anadarko to Augusta Luke and Mary [Fisher] Bosin. She fell in love with George Palmer and they were married December 12, 1944 at Ware's Chapel. At the time George was home on leave from the United States Army during World War II. Imogene was also a well known bead worker.

She was a member of the Kiowa Tribe. Imogene was an amazing strong woman who was loved by all. any time you would visit her she would make you laugh. She always had a smile on her face.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Grandparents Frank and Emily Bosin, Rudolph Fisher and Tressy-Chau-er. One brother Vincent, two sisters Caroline and Eleanor Bosin. One nephew Norman Pratt, One grandson Patrick Palmer. One great grandson, de'shaun, one great granddaughter Malory, one great great grandson Kevin She is survived by her son Vincent (Toes) of Anadarko, daughter Georgette of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, one sister Virginia Koontz of Stecker, one nephew Jack Koontz, 10 grandkids, Marcus, Darlene, Georgene, Georganna, MariAnn, Stacey, Little Marie, Shauna, Santana and Lela. 31 great grandkids, 35 great-great grandkids.

Chlotiea E. [Peacher] Palmer
March 18, 1924 ~ February 1, 2011


Chlotiea E. Peacher Palmer was born March 18, 1924 in Oney, Oklahoma to Owen & Birdie [Nelson] Peacher and after a lengthy illness, she passed away on February 1, 2011 at her home.

After graduating from Oney High School at the age of 16, she enrolled and attended the University of Oklahoma for half a semester then became homesick and returned back to Oney.

During World War II, she worked for Douglas Aircraft Corporation, building C-47 transport planes.

After the war, she married Dixon Palmer in October 1947. She and her husband worked the family farm and helped run the Apache "Y" Store, a local gathering place for rural Indians and farmers in the Redstone area. She and her husband were also employed and were co-assistant managers at Indian City USA from the time of it's construction until their retirement in 1975. During her time at Indian City, she was like a mother to all the young dancers. She was very proud of her "Indian City Kids", especially Tim Nestell, the Cozad Boys, the late Virgil Swift, Murray Niastor, Lee M. Tsatoke Jr., the Tsatoke Sisters and many others. Together,

Dixon and Chlotiea were noted artisans of traditional Indian crafts including teepees, war bonnets, fancy war dance bustles and buckskin dresses. She was a remarkable beadworker. Until the time of her stroke in 2010, she was active around the farm and with her family. She enjoyed her daily walks and reading books on her front porch swing.

Chlotiea is survived by her husband, Dixon Palmer of the home' her daughter, Lynda Janelle and husband, Jack of Peeples Valley, Arizona; her son, Randy Palmer & wife, Glenda of Anadarko, Oklahoma; four grandchildren: Jeremy Janelle of Phoenix, Arizona, Katherine Palmer, Carla Palmer and Dixon Owen Palmer of Anadarko, Oklahoma; six great grandchildren: Seven Janelle o Phoenix, Arizona, Justin & Kenzie Hill of Anadarko, Oklahoma, Judah & Luke Janelle of Phoenix, Arizona and Mikie Janelle of Vail, Colorado.

Chlotiea is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Janet, brother; Floyd Peacher; granddaughter, Monique Janelle and grandson, Michael Janelle.

Prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M., Friday, February 4, 2011 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Anadarko. Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Bethel Baptist Church, Anadarko with Tim Nestell Officiating. Burial to follow in Memory Lane Cemetery, Anadarko under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Anadarko, Oklahoma.

Victor Ray Palmer
May 24, 1938 ~ February 21, 2020


After 81 years of a life well lived, Victor Ray Palmer entered his heavenly home on February 21, 2020. He was born May 24, 1938 at the Lawton Indian Hospital to Wilhelmina Kodaseet and Bill Palmer.

Victor was named by one of his oldest cousins, who was a nurse at the hospital and named him after the last hereditary Quapaw Chief, Victor Ray. He was raised south of Mountain View in Zodletone. He started school at Sedan Public Schools, but later graduated from Alden Schools. He lettered four years in baseball and basketball. Victor went on to attend college at Cameron University in Lawton, ultimately earning a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Colorado.

Victor was a proud member of the Kiowa Tribe. His Indian name was Tde’ a’ dau, meaning “they were all there”, given to him by James Two Hatchet. He was Chief Judge of Standing Rock Tribal Court, Fort Yates, ND, and General Counsel for Standing Rock Industries Gaming Commission for the Kickapoo Tribe in Kansas.

Recently, Victor was an inspector for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Dallas, TX. He was also an Economic Development Planner for the Kiowa Tribe, Kickapoo Tribe of Kansas, Apache Tribe, and Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma. In addition, Victor was President for the American Indian Exposition, served on the Kiowa Business Committee for four years and was Vice Chairman and Treasurer for two years.

Victor was successful in all of his business ventures, but his proudest accomplishment was his vision and foresight of creating the Kiowa Tribal Complex for his people and generations to come. He also cherished his time as Sr. Advisor for Kiowa Black Leggings Warrior Society and was a proud member of Kiowa Tia-Piah Society.

Victor was an avid fan of the OSU Cowboys. He was also an excellent chef and owned the Italian Oven in Oklahoma City. He found great joy in going to pow-wows and participated as a Southern Straight Dancer. He was preceded in passing by his parents; 3 brothers, Raymond Tahbone, George Tahbone, and Clayton Palmer; and 1 sister, Jennie Purdy.

Those left to continue his legacy include his loving wife of 59 ½ years, Mayredean Palmer; children, Lester James Palmer and Sherill and Courtney Ray Palmer and Darrell Washington; 4 grandchildren, Laura Huntinghorse and Carlos, Statia Guoladdle and Beau, Dustin Palmer and Schrenna, and Summer Palmer and Jared; 16 great-grandchildren, C.J, Alyssa, Brock, Sherill, Shenoah, Nadia, Aidan, Dwayne, Calvin, Mayredean, Ah-kee-mah, Brooklyn, Cortlyn, Dustin Jr., Jordan, and Lillian and sister, Dorothy Palmer. He is also survived by a host of other loving extended family and friends.

Victor was a beautiful man and has served his purpose. God gave him beautiful families to enjoy and love, now we let God love and enjoy him throughout eternity.

Visitation is 3:00pm to 8:00pm, Monday, February 24, 2020 at Resthaven Funeral Home, 500 S.W. 104th St. Oklahoma City, OK 73139. Services are 10:00am, Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at First Baptist Church, 700 W Petree Rd, Anadarko, OK 73005. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko. ANADARKO Funeral for Thomas Wayne Palmer Sr, 68, Anadarko, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, August 17, 2018, at Ware's Chapel Hog Creek, Anadarko, with Dusty Miller officiating. Mr. Palmer passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018, in Lawton, with his loving family by his side. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home.

Wake service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Ware's Chapel.

Thomas was born August 28, 1949, to Wilbur and Winifred Kassanavoid Palmer in Lawton.

He grew up in Stecker/Broxton area attending schools there and later attended Chilocco Indian School. He attended USAO in Chickasha. He loved working on cars and worked as a mechanic for many years.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a proud member of the Kiowa Tribe.

He is survived by his wife, Gina, of the home; Thomas Palmer Jr. and wife Kari, Pueblo Colo., James Earl Palmer, Oklahoma City, Anna Danielle Smith and husband Robert, Yukon; brothers and sisters: Katherine Palmer Blair and husband Bill Blair, Longview, Texas, John Michael Palmer, Ronnie Palmer, Danny Palmer, Erwin Palmer, Maryann Palmer, Kaylyn Palmer; seven grandchildren: DeeAnna Palmer, Raina Palmer, Moriah Owens, Hannah Palmer, Makayla Owens, and Robert Smith Jr.; four great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carolyn Palmer.

Darwina Haungooh Silverhorn Palmer went to be with our heavenly father on October 15, 2017. She was born on October 23, 1955.

She was married to Darwin P. Palmer and to this union was born 5 children.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Bunnie Sue Palmer, Sonja Alice Palmer, Christopher Michael Palmer, Tiffany LaRue Johnson; 11 grandchildren: Jonnika Poolaw, Shaundae, Sky, Doumontenpahsan-Jordan, Kendra Sue Kessler, Kala Marie Kessler, Marquela Pewardy, Henry Wayne Wetselline Jr., Breanna Lynn Russell, Mathias Lee Russell, Keanna Johnson; companion, Winston James Ford; 2 brothers and 3 sisters: Thomasine Neconie, Susie "Tootie" Thompson, and Velma Eisenburger and Larney and Carney.

Darwina is preceded in death by her parents: Chester Silverhorn and Edwina Longhat Silverhorn; son, Darwin Paul Palmer Jr.; siblings: Chestina "Baby Doll", Colleen Haungooah Silverhorn, Barney Silverhorn, Edwin "Bullhorn" Silverhorn, grandparents "Haungooah" and Taugoom [Hattie Silverhorn Ahboah]; Eddie Longhat and Cora Delaware.

Prayer service will be Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday, October 20, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at JJ Methvin Church in Anadarko. Rev. Carolyn Palmer of Anadarko, OK. passed away October 22, 2016 in Norman, OK. at the age of 47.

Carolyn was born August 7, 1969 in Lawton, OK. to Wilbur Palmer and Francella [Archilta] Palmer.

She enjoyed watching OU, and the Dallas Cowboys, loved her animals and enjoyed most of all her grandchildren.

Survivors include: Daughters Christina Noel Palmer of Oklahoma City, OK. & Lacey Sullivan of Oklahoma City, OK. Sisters: Katherine [Palmer] Blair & husband William of Longview, TX, Cindy Hubert & wife Kimberly Rupert, Mary Ann Palmer of Anadarko, OK, Debbie Smith & husband Curtis of Anadarko, OK. Brothers: John Palmer of Stecker, OK. Thomas Wayne Palmer & wife Gina of Anadarko, OK. Ronnie Palmer of Anadarko, OK. Erwin Palmer of Anadarko, OK. Daniel Charles Palmer of Anadarko, OK. Mark Archilta of Anadarko, OK. Carolyn is also survived by numerous Nieces and Nephews.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, & niece Tamra Palmer.

Patrick Vincent Palmer

Patrick Vincent Palmer, 30, of Anadarko, Oklahoma, was called home by the Lord on Thursday, November 4, 2010. He was born April 14, 1980 to Vincent Luke and Nancy Jane [Geionety] Palmer in Lawton, Oklahoma. He attended High School in Anadarko. He had worked for Williams Grocery Store and was currently employed as a Fire Fighter for the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma.

He loved his family very much and enjoyed family gatherings. His pride and joy was his daughter, Sophia Sha'nell Palmer. He was quite an artist. He enjoyed Tatooing. He had made a profession of his faith in Christ and was a member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by: one daughter: Sophia Sha'nell of Anadarko, OK, and one daughter on the way, whom they have named, Kobe Marie Palmer, his special companion and mother of his daughters, Alice Roughface of Anadarko, OK, mother: Nancy Geoinety Tartsah and husband, Ron of Meers, OK, father: Vincent Palmer of Anadarko, OK three brothers: Marcus Palmer and Frank Geionety both of Apache, OK, Christopher Haumpo of Lawton, OK, six sisters: Darlene Palmer, Georgene Palmer and husband, Tim, Geor Anna Palmer and husband, Gerald Corriveau, Stacey Palmer, Caroline Palmer all of Anadarko, OK, Mariann Palmer Corley and husband, Kerry of Utah, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, George Palmer, his maternal grandparents, George Geoinety and Katherine Stumblingbear, one uncle, Charles Geoinety
