Charles Hopgood, 92, of Anadarko, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at the Silvercrest Nursing Home in Anadarko, Oklahoma.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 6, 2005 at Memory Lane Cemetery, Anadarko, Oklahoma. Visitation will be Sunday, June 5, 2005 from 1:00 til 7:00 p.m.

Services under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Anadarko, Oklahoma.

Charles Hopgood
February 2, 1913 ~ June 1, 2005


Charlie Hopgood, 92, of Anadarko, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at the Silvercrest Nursing Home in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Charlie was born February 2, 1913 in Boley, Oklahoma to Pink & Mattie (Holden) Hopgood. He was one of thirteen children born to this union.

Charlie married Sarah Oliver, she preceded him in death in 1995.

Charlie worked at the Coop in Carnegie for forty years where he worked in the feed mill.

He loved his family and participating in all the family activities and gatherings. Charlie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include seven daughters, Charlotte Hopgood & Geneva Hopgood, Anadarko, Oklahoma. Jeanette Hopgood & Ellen Hopgood, Chickasha, Oklahoma. Minnie Sanders, Irene Counter & Marsha K. Ingersol, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four step-daughters, Princetta Pendarvis, Delores Johnson, Jean Guesby, Anadarko, Oklahoma, Katy Odum, Fort Cobb, Oklahoma; two sons, Maurice Hopgood, Midwest City, Oklahoma, Kenneth Hopgood, Kansas; grandson, Donnell Hopgood, Anadarko, Oklahoma; two special granddaughters, Shirl Hopgood & Marvella Hopgood; four generations of grandchildren; a special niece, Bessie Baker; numerous other relatives, nieces, nephews and many loving friends.

Charlie is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sarah; three sons; Donnell, Marvin & Charles Hopgood; one step-son, Charles Pendarvis; and two stepdaughters, Betty Jean Head & Dorothy "Sug" Pendarvis.

Graveside services were at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 6, 2005 at Memory Lane Cemetery, Anadarko, Oklahoma. Visitation was held Sunday, June 5, 2005 from 1:00 till 7:00 p.m. Officiating was Rev. Vaughn Wand. Burial to follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery, Anadarko, Oklahoma under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Anadarko, Oklahoma.
