Dakota Charles Doughty

Dakota Charles Doughty, 15, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, November 20, 2003, at his home in Anadarko, Oklahoma. He was born in the wee hours of October 1, 1988, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Floyd "Buddy" doughty and Sonya Brown..

Dakota attended the Anadarko public school, and was currently attending the Aware School at Washita. He took state in wrestling in Anadarko. He was a member of the Virginia Avenue Baptist Church. Dakota enjoyed hanging out with his friends, Bryan, Austin, Shane and those of his friends whom I have forgotten to mention at this sad time. We will always remember Dakota's smile. It always made us smile along with him; we will miss him so very much.

Survivors include: his father, Floyd "Buddy" Doughty, Anadarko, OK; his mother, Sonya Hubbard and husband, Hunt, Blanchard, OK; 1 brother: Devery Wade Brown and wife, Olivia, Anadarko; 1 sister, Tiffany Ja'Aron Brown, Chickasha; 2 nephews: Jace and Cotton Brown; 1 niece, Kaityn Brown; maternal grandparents, Bryant Brown and wife, Linda, Anadarko; paternal grandparents, Floyd Charles "Bud" Doughty and wife, Eva, Anadarko; great grandmother, Ann Robertson, Anadarko; 6 aunts: Sherry DeLaune and husband, Euclid, Anadarko, Cara Dickson and husband, Malcom, Anadarko, Shara Moffitt and husband, Larry, Anadarko, Debbie Kinslow and husband, Danny, Terrell, Texas, Deanna Brimm and husband, David, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Bridgette Melton and husband, Rodney, Gracemont; 5 uncles: Bryan Doughty and wife, Sharon, Anadarko, Justin Doughty and wife, Mary, Anadarko, Bryant "B. B." Brown and wife, Sharon, Anadarko, Garrett Brown, Fort Leonardwood, Missouri, Jerrett Brown, Phoenix, Arizona; cousins: Euclid "Anthony" and Darcy Zane, Kami, Mayce and Cole, Stephanie, Alexis and Keely, Izayah, Jaylan, Miranda Burch, Laci Doughty, Jeff Burch, Ashley Brimm, Logan Brimm, Austin Melton, Haley Melton, Bryan Doughty and Crystal Doughty.

He is preceded in death by 1 uncle, Terry Owens.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 22, 2003, at the Bethel Baptist Church, Anadarko. Rev. Monte Moran, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Thomas, Oklahoma and Rev. Ted Mercer, pastor of Grace Christian Fellowship, Anadarko will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery, Anadarko, under the direction of the Smith-Hackney Funeral Home, Anadarko.
