Leona [Buck] Briggs

Leona Briggs went to be with her Lord November 1, 2010. She was born January 29, 1913 in Coleman County, TX to Oscar W. Buck Sr. and Nettie Mae [Curry] Buck.

She loved to garden, sew, and especially listen to Bob Wills music. She worked at the Guthrie Ben Franklin Store and was later a house mother to many children at the Masonic Children's Home.

She is survived by one daughter Nancy Rodrick of Guthrie, OK; three grandchildren Greg Semler [Donna] of Guthrie, Tonia Hunt of Guthrie, and Luann Miller of Ankeny, IA; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Leona was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, two sons-in-law Gerald E. Semler and Clifford Rodrick, and one grandson.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 5, 2010 at Carnegie Cemetery, Carnegie, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Visitation will be Thursday, 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
