Phyllis Sharol [Broyles] Blalock

Phyllis was born November 1, 1941, in Glencoe, Oklahoma, to James C. and Carrie (Prince) Broyles, and passed from this life on August 20, 2010, in the Weatherford Hospital after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's.

Mrs. Blalock was united in marriage to Leslie Blalock on March 15, 1963, in Anadarko. One child, Jamie LesLynn was born from this union.

Mrs. Blalock moved to Anadarko with her family as a young child and attended Anadarko Schools, graduating with the Class of 1959.

She was very active in school activities, leading the Warrior Marching Band as Majorette her senior year. She worked at the old Bus Station and at C. R. Anthony during school and after graduation went to work for Western Farmers Electric Cooperative until the birth of her child.

She was a stay-at-home Mom until Jamie began school, then she went back to work for the Anadarko School System where she served as School Secretary for almost thirty years, retiring in 2001.

Mrs. Blalock loved to make Arts and Crafts, and was an excellent cake decorator. She loved to "Go" and looked forward to the annual vacation trip to Branson with her family.

She was a member of the First Christian Church.

Her parents, both brothers, Jimmy Broyles and Gerald Broyles, and an adopted sister, Judy Ratliff, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband Leslie, of the Anadarko home; daughter Jamie Lynch and grandson Brady Lynch, and mother-in-law Ruby Blalock, all of Anadarko, sister-in-law Donis Hardaway of Weatherford; other relatives and many loving friends and thoughtful neighbors.

Closed casket funeral service will be held at1:00 PM, Wednesday, August 25, at the First Christian church, with former pastor Richard Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Lane Cemetery.

Viewing at the Steverson Funeral Home will be until 5 PM Monday, from 9 AM until p PM Tuesday, and from 9 AM until 11 AM Wednesday.
