© Steverson Funeral Home Anadarko, Oklahoma March 8, 1989 July 4, 1939 ~ September 23, 2023 Ruby Ann Adams was born July 4, 1939 to Noble and Opal Melencamp in Anadarko, Oklahoma. She went to her heavenly home on September 23, 2023. Ruby married Kenneth Adams on January 16, 1959. Ruby and Kenneth made their home in Anadarko and raised three children there. Ruby served her community for 3 decades as a social worker for DHS, then after retirement, became the administrator of Binger and Silver Crest Nursing Homes. She loved to garden, cook, and she especially loved hearing the bells of her favorite casino games! She loved to cook Sunday dinners for all of her grandkids, take her grandkids Christmas shopping, and wrapping so many presents that they filled the whole living room. Ruby is survived by her children; Cindy Weber and husband Scott of Fort Cobb, Kendra Allen and husband James of Anadarko, and Rick Shochler of Fort Worth, TX; sister, Carol Jean Coffey and husband Terrell of Hinton; daughter-in-law, Sherry McCathern; seven grandchildren; Courtney Breshears and husband Justin of Fort Cobb, Cassi Crowell and husband Kent of Fort Cobb, Jered Davidson and wife Lindsey of Edmond, Oklahoma, Catie Williamson and husband Brad of Mustang, Adam Davidson of Anadarko, Dylan Weber and wife Hope of Chickasha, and Jennifer Adams of Anadarko, Luke Schochler of San Antonio, Texas, Hannah Schochler of Austin, Texas, Heather Allen of Newcastle, and Kyle Allen and wife Rayna of Edmond. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, Colten and Camryn Breshears, Kaleb, Kendyll, and Kutter Crowell, Duke Davidson, Avery and Landon Williamson, Ryan Weber, Payslee, Kae'anna, Aubre'anna, and Stella, Brooclynn Harris, Kaius Allen, and many other family members who loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, one son, Greg Adams, and an infant brother. Services will be 10:00am on Wednesday, September 27 at the First Christian Church in Anadarko with burial in the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko. © Steverson Funeral Home Anadarko, Oklahoma March 8, 1989 December 20, 1943 ~ August 7, 2013 Ray Allen Adams, 69, of Anadarko, was born December 20, 1943, to Charlie Henry and Dorothy Mae [Bussell] Adams in Cogar. He passed from this life on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 in Oklahoma City. Ray was raised in the Gracemont area and graduated from Gracemont High School in 1962. He worked for Sequoyah Carpet Mills for a while then for Wilson Meat Packing in Oklahoma City. Ray and Beverly Winn were married on March 3, 1967. During this time, he was also put in six years in the Oklahoma National Guard. Ray was ordained as a deacon at the Squaretop Baptist Church. He later went to work for the Oklahoma Department of transportation as a bridge inspector until his retirement in 1995. Ray and Beverly were members of the Gracemont First Baptist Church. Ray liked camping, hunting, gardening and tinkering with small engines in his own repair shop. He enjoyed watching westerns and had become an avid Oklahoma City Thunder fan. Ray also loved getting together with his family every chance he had. Preceding him in death were his parents, daughter, Teresa Adams DuVall; two brothers, an infant, Raymond Adams and Charles Edwin Adams; three sisters, Ella Mae Hoolihan, Joan Powell and Ramona Adams and a brother-in-law, Dave Powell. Survivors include his wife, Beverly of the home; three sons, Cletus Adams and his wife, Tina of Anadarko, Randy Adams and his fiancĂ©, Kathy of Hurst, Texas and David Adams of Anadarko; four grandchildren, J.D. Adams, Brandon Smith, Leuren Adams and Dalton Adams, all of Anadarko; two brothers, Gene Fogle and his wife, Sue of Gracemont and Dale Adams and his wife, Barbara of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Mary Housner and her husband, Bud of Oklahoma City and Donna Adams of Chickasha; Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. on Saturday and from 1 P.M. to 9 P.M. on Sunday. The funeral service is scheduled for 10 A.M., Monday, August 12, 2013, at the Gracemont First Baptist Church with Pastor Don Crittendon officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery under the direction of the Steverson Funeral Home. |

© The Chickasha Express-Star Chichasha, Oklahoma Thursday, 17 May 2007 June 3, 1964 ~ May 15, 2007 Jerry William Adams, Jr, was born June 3, 1964, in Clinton, Oklahoma, to Jerry W. Adams, Sr., and Anna E. [Carr] Adams. He passed from this life quite unexpectedly on May 15, 2007, in Anadarko, Oklahoma at the age of 42 years, 7 months and 12 days. Jerry grew up in Binger, and graduated from Binger High School in 1982. Immediately after graduation he joined the United States Army, where he served for 15 years. He took part in Desert Storm and served 2 tours in Germany. Jerry was a M1A1 Tank Commander. He was discharged with the rank of sergeant, receiving 100% disability from injuries. He moved to Anadarko in 1997 following his discharge. He was a member of the Paralyzed American Veterans and the Disabled American Veterans Associations. He loved motorcycles, horses, poetry, and most of all, his boys. He was preceded in death by his father and his mother, Anna Carr Stewart, and grandparents, Lewie and Elnora Carr. Survivors include his sons, Austin Daniel Adams and Colton James Adams, of the home; and their mother Stacy Adams of Chickasha. Also by two brothers, Bobby Guinn and Jackie Guinn, both of Anadarko; two sisters, Cindy Burks of Anadarko; and Molly Self of Hinton; his best friends, G.A. "Pino" Amoruso of Anadarko; Carolyn and Larry Conway and Stacy Smith of Verden; numerous nieces and nephews, including Julie Claypole of Anadarko, who was especially close to Jerry, other relatives and a wide circle of friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 18, at Memory Lane Cemetery. Viewing until 9:00 P.M., Thursday night, and from 9:00 A.M. until noon Friday.
