Myrtle Irene [Sissons] Daily
June 24, 1924 ~ April 2, 2019


Myrtle I. Daily of Edmond formerly of Norman passed away Tuesday night April 2, 2019.

She was born June 24, 1924 to William H Sisson and Katrina Dick Sisson in Hinton Oklahoma.

Myrtle was raised in the Hinton area and graduated from Hinton High School she then attended Southwestern Institute of Technology in Weatherford where she earned a Bachelorâ•.s Degree and a Lifetime Teaching Certificate in 1945.

Myrtle married Leon A Daily in December of 1945 they celebrated nearly 50 years together before his passing in 1995. They raised 7 children together and traveled together for many years before settling in Norman and then later in Purcell Oklahoma.

Myrtle believed in ╸Family, Food and Flowersâ•v she took care of their children even when they were transferred to Venezuela and she climbed aboard a plane with 5 small children and followed her husband into the wilds of the jungle.

She enjoyed family reunionsâ•. and her family, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook and there was always good food on her table and in her home.

Spring is one of her favorite times of the year because her many gardens and flowers always brightened her neighborhood. Myrtle always had beautiful flower beds until her health prevented her endless hours of maintenance.

She was active in McFarlin Church in Norman for many years.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her father William Sisson, her mother ╸Kateâ•v Sisson, Her husband Leon A Daily, two children Katherine I Daily, and Leona K Hancock, Her brothers Jake Wolfe, Pete Wolfe, Charlie Sisson, Austin Sisson and Gene Sisson.

Myrtle is survived by her sons Jimmie E Daily of Austin Texas, Charles W Daily and his wife Sharri of Noble Oklahoma, her daughters Nita S Daily of Austin Texas, Carolyn J Porter and her husband Bill of Edmond Oklahoma and Jane A Daily of Goldsby Oklahoma. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will be present to receive visitors from 1-3 Friday April 5, 2019 visitation ends at 8:00 PM at Havenbrook Funeral home in Norman. Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday April 6, 2019 with a small graveside service at 4:30 PM in Hinton Oklahoma.

Arrangements for Myrtle and her family were placed in the care of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman Oklahoma. Online condolences may be shared at www.HavenbrookFuneralHome.com.
