He was born March 26, 1960 to Frank and Thelma [High] Ybarra in Lawton, OK. He attended school at Fort Sill Indian School and also in Pasadena, CA. He attended Okmulgee Technology Center and received his degree in Culinary Arts. Savondo was a member of the First Apache Baptist Church, First Indian Baptist Church, Fort Cobb and also a member of the Native American Church. Some of his hobbies he enjoyed were boxing, martial arts, baking, mechanic work, fishing, and Native American crafts. He was also a member of the Carnegie Victory Club and the Blackfoot Society. Savondo had a very special place in his heart for his grandchildren, as well as his family and friends. Survivors include three sons, George Michael Ybarra, Lawton, OK, Elijah Mose Ybarra, Okmulgee, OK, Preston Savondo Pebshey, Lawton, OK, three daughters, Helen Marie Cruz, Hope Mills, NC, Melody Dawn Ybarra Jobe, Lawton, OK, Sandra Ybarra, Omaha, N, father, Frank "Tator" Ybarra Jr, Apache, OK, six brothers, Jeffrey Ybarra and wife, Deann, Guthrie, OK, Frank Ybarra III and wife, Kari, Lawton, OK, Lynard Ybarra and wife, Jenna, Apache, OK,Manuel Gallegos and wife, Alicia, Modesto, CA, Darryl and Dulce, Lawton, OK, Carl Ray, Alden, OK, three sisters, Chili Girl Ybarra, Welling, OK Gina Gallegos, San Jose, CA, Anjeanette Nester, Lawton, OK, five grandsons, D. Jamison Poafpybitty Jr, Immanuel Vincent Poafpybitty, Charles Harry Ybarra, Michael Tramble Elijah Bender, two granddaughters, Alexis Cruz, Iris Cruz, two aunts, Margie "Lupe" Diaz, Eva Vino Whitewolf. He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma High Pahcheka, two sisters, Carmen Josephine Ybarra, Sophia Jolene Ybarra, maternal grandparents, Charlie and Ruby "Taneqoodle" High, paternal grandparents, Rufus Ybarra and Josie Starr, two uncles, Jerry High, Roger High, five aunts, Carol High McKinney, Helen High Slattery, Freida Rae High, Delores Ybarra Horsechief, Tricia Irene Washee, one infant grandson, one infant granddaughter, Kya Ybarra. Wake Service: 7:00 pm, Sunday, September 23. Funeral Service: 11:00 am, Monday, September 24. Both services will be held at First Apache Baptist Church, Apache, OK. Lawton, Oklahoma May 2009 Anadarko, Oklahoma 1965 ~ May 21, 2009 Sophia Jolene "Pretty Flower" Ybarra, 44, passed away May 21, 2009 at the Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton. The funeral service was held Wednesday, May 27 at 1 pm at the Apache Reform Church in Fort Cobb. A wake service was held at 7 pm on Tuesday, May 26 at the Apache Reform Church. |
© Lawton Constitution Lawton, Oklahoma Wednesday, April 2, 2008 September 29, 2007 ~ March 29, 2008 Carnegie - Funeral for Kya Reanna Ybarra, infant daughter of Johnny and Ashley Bourdon Ybarra, Carnegie, will be at 1 pm Thursday at Redstone Baptist Church, Anadarko, with the Rev Milton Otis and the Rev Kenny Sullivan officiating. Kya died Saturday March 29, 2008, in Carnegie. Burial will be in the High Family Cemetery, Fort Cobb, under direction of Ray and Martha's Funeral Home, Carnegie. She was born September 29, 2007, in Lawton. Survivors in addition to her parents include a brother, Caleb Christopher Ybarra, Carnegie; maternal grandfather, Charles Toyebo Jr, Anadarko; paternal grandfathers, J. D. Pahcheka, Carnegie, Frank "Tator" Ybarra, Boone; grandmothers, Chili Hainta and husband Carl, Mountain View, and Winona Satepauhoodle, Chickasha; and great grandmothers, Eva Whitewolf, Lupe Diaz and Freida High, all of Carnegie. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Carmen "Carmie Jo" Ybarra, and her great grandmother, Thelma High Pahcheka. |
