Steven Samuel Gee
December 5, 1947 ~ February 22, 2023


Steven Samuel Gee, 75, of Blanchard, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, with his family by his side. Steve was born December 5, 1947, in Anadarko to Kenneth and Bettye Gee.

He graduated from Mountain View School, in 1966 and was awarded a full scholarship to Oklahoma State University in engineering.

Before he finished his first semester, he was drafted to the military, and he enlisted in the United States Marines. Steve served one tour in Vietnam and was discharged in 1970 after achieving the rank of Corporal, Aircraft Electrical System Tech.

He was a 32nd Degree Mason.

Steve went to work for Western Farmers Electric Coop in 1970, where he met the love of his life, Darlene. They were married in 1975. Throughout their marriage, God took them to new places where they learned to depend upon each other. They were blessed with three children, Steven Jr., Rus, and Kari.

After leaving WFEC, Steve worked for Kansas Electric Statewide Coop, and then taught Electrical Lineman School at Pratt College in Kansas. He later worked for Oklahoma Electric Statewide, and then became General Manager for Sierra Electric Coop in Elephant Butte, New Mexico. After ten years in New Mexico, he was given the opportunity to move closer to family, where he took the job as General Manager of Swisher Electric Coop in Tulia, Texas. After six years, he retired and was able to move back to Oklahoma in 2016!

Steve enjoyed spending time with his children and especially the Grandkids, and working in his shop. He was saved when he was 10 years old. He taught Sunday School for junior high boys and older adults. He loved studying the Bible and teaching the different books of the Bible.

He was preceded in death by one son, James David Gee, his parents and step-parents, Kenneth and Betty Gee, and Bettye and Cloyd Harrison; his father-in-law, Leo Nightingale; and one brother, Alfred Harrison.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Gee, of the home; two sons, Steven Gee and wife, Lynn of Warrensburg, Missouri, and Rus Gee and wife, Chelsea of Blanchard, Oklahoma, one daughter Kari Cruzan and husband, Lafe of Carnegie, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Jacob, Jordan and Jericho Gee, Gracie, Jackson, Charlee and Harrison Gee, and Kade and Laynie Cruzan; one sister, DeeAnn Hazle and husband, Ronnie, of Mountain View; one brother, Cotton Harrison and wife, Marie, of Yukon; and many other loved ones and friends.

Viewing for family and friends will be from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Friday, February 24, 2023, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home in Blanchard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the Crossroad to Life Baptist Church in Blanchard.

Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at the Greenfield Mennonite Cemetery in Carnegie.

Memorial donations may be made in Steve’s name to Crossroad to Life Baptist Church Building Fund.
