Myrtle "Alo" Hamilton

Myrtle "Alo" Hamilton, 94, of Gracemont, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2003, at her home in Gracemont, Oklahoma.

She was born October 1, 1909, in Kennedale, Texas to Samuel Julius and Mary Etta (Underwood) Elrod.

Alo married Ira "Ham" Hamilton December 3, 1933, in Alex, Oklahoma.

She had her own beauty shop along side her husbands barber shop since 1935.

Mrs. Hamilton was a member of the Rebecca Lodge since 1941 and was also active with the First United Methodist Church Women's Group of Gracemont.

Alo loved to travel and made several trips with her fellow lodge friends.

Mrs. Hamilton also enjoyed knitting and quilting.

She was active with the Gracemont senior citizens and always greeted everyone with a smile.

Survivors include, 1 sister, Viona McDaniel, Gracemont, Oklahoma, 1 sister-in-law and caretaker, Mary Elrod, Gracemont, Oklahoma; 11 nieces and nephews also numerous other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2003, in the First United Methodist Church, Gracemont, Oklahoma with Rev. Virgil Payne officiating

Burial will follow in the Gracemont Cemetery under the direction of the Smith-Hackney Funeral Home, Anadarko, Oklahoma.
