SP4 Bollman Is Victim of Vietnam War

A native of Rush Springs and former Chickasha fireman is Grady County's fourth victim of the war in Vietnam. SP4 Robert V. Bollman had been reported earlier this week as missing in action.

He was born Dec. 28, 1943 in Rush Springs. He was graduated in 1961 from Ninnekah High School and attended Oklahoma State University for one year.

Before enlisting in the Army in August 1967, he had been employed by the Chickasha Fire Department and Morris Brothers Trailer Company.

He received his basic training at Ft. Polk, La., and his advanced training as an acting corporal at Ft. Lewis, Wash. He was awarded the expert rifleman and efficiency medal at Ft. Polk.

He is survived by his wife, Connie, and a daughter, Gayla Renee Bollman of the home; two sons, Darren Keith and Robert Vinson Bollman of Chickasha; a daughter, Terry Leanet Bollman of Chickasha; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Bennett of Ninnekah; two sisters, Mrs. Charlene Baker of Cushing, OK and Miss Vickie Bennett of Chickasha; two brothers, Jimmy and Roger Bennett of Ninnekah; and his grandparents, Mrs. Mary Bennett of Chickasha and Mrs. Sylvia Lewis of Sterling.

Robert V. Bollman

Full military services for SP4 Robert V. Bollman were held at 2 pm Thursday in the First Baptist Church, Ninnekah, with Rev. Cleo Baker, pastor of the Cushing Calvary Baptist Church and Rev. Johnnie Curtsinger, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Ninnekah, officiating.

U. S. Army personnel from Ft. Sill served as pallbearers. The bugler was SP4 Terry Robinson. The officer in charge was Lt Howard F. Camp and also NCO in charge was Sgt Warren Killam.

Music was provided by Mrs. Johnnie Curtsinger and Miss Frieda Gale Morris, accompanied by Miss Peggy Anthony.

Interment was in the Gracemont Cemetery under the direction of the Sevier Funeral Home.
