Edna Pearl [Kerr] Cox Barnhart
February 8, 1932 ~ December 29, 2013


Edna Pearl Cox Barnhart was born February 8, 1932 in Steedman, OK to Quincy Edward and Willie Edna [West] Kerr. She passed away on Sunday December 29, 2013 at the Mercy Health Center in OKC, OK.

Pearl was raised in the Ada area and graduated from Bing High School.

She married Paul E. Cox on July 30, 1949 in Bridgeport, OK. The couple lived in the Bridgeport community, Paul passed in 1983.

Pearl married Tom Barnhart on March 5, 1993. They lived in Clayton, NM. After Tom's passing, Pearl moved back to the Hinton area.

Pearl was an excellent cook. She was known far and wide for her breads and pies. She won first prize in the Wheat-heart Contest of the State Fair of Oklahoma. Pearl cooked at the Biscuit Hill and Cherokee Restaurants.

She loved to fish and looked forward to the weekly card game with her siblings.

She had a strong faith and was a very active member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church.

Survivors Include; 6 daughters, Linda Cox of OK City, OK, Jan Wright of Hinton, OK, Lucy McMillan and husband Charles of Gracemont, OK, Patricia Griffitts and fiancé Tony Adams of El Reno, OK, Charlotte Elder and husband Pat of Cushing, OK, Jerrie Beth Tripp and husband Ron of Yukon, OK, 2 step-daughters, Connie Gordy and husband HW of Junction, TX and Laurie Kuykendall and husband Donnie of Kremlin, OK, 2 step-sons, Robert Barnhart and wife Polly of Cortez, CO and David Barnhart and his wife Susie of Bethany, OK, 7 siblings, Bud Kerr and wife Velta of Hinton, OK, Bill Kerr of Cushing, OK, Phillip Kerr and wife Wilda of Bridgeport, OK, Arvie Gerloff of Mannsville, OK, Lola Mashaney of Bridgeport, OK, Loretta Hobson and husband Paul Dale of Calumet, OK, Treva Johnson of Bridgeport, OK, sister-in-law, Donna Kerr of Lookeba, OK, brothers-in-law, Joe Jared of Hinton and Glen Cox of Live Oak, TX 13 grandchildren, 16great-grandchildren and one more on the way, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Pearl was preceded in death by her parents QE and Willie Edna Kerr, husbands, Paul Cox and Tom Barnhart, sister, Dorthea Jared and brother Bobby Kerr.
