Ben F. White

Fort Cobb Rites Held Monday For Ben F. White

Funeral services for Ben F. White, Fort Cobb trucker, were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Fort Cobb Christian church. Rev. Warren Woodrome, Oklahoma City, conducted the services, assisted by Rev. Carroll Cole, Fort Cobb pastor.

Interment was in the Oak Grove cemetery near Fort Cobb.

White, a brother of Mrs. F.M. Reynolds and Mrs. Neill Moore, Carnegie, died Friday at his home in Fort Cobb after a long illness. He had surgery over a year ago and had spent many weeks in the hospital but had been home several days before his death.

A native of Texas, he was born June 16, 1894, and came to Caddo county in 1903. He was reared in the Carnegie community.

He was married to Anna Glover of Fort Cobb and five children were born to them.

He was a member of the Washita Christian church.

Surviving him are his widow of the home; three sons, Lloyd and Ed of Fort Cobb, and Harold of Pueblo, Colo.; a daughter, Mrs. Beulah Robison, Oklahoma City; six brothers, Jess of Talihina, Homer, Burket, Texas, Sam of Healdton, Percy of Lovington, N.M., Virgil, Kermit, Texas; and Vernon of Hobbs, N.M.; the two sisters, Mrs. Reynolds and Mrs. Moore; and eight grandchildren.

One child preceded him in death.

Julius A. White

Former Carnegie Resident Dies Of Heart Attack

Funeral services for Julius A. White, Bethany, a well-known former resident of the Carnegie community, will be held at 11 o'clock Thursday morning in Forest Hill Christian church, Oklahoma City. Graveside rites will be conducted about 3 p.m. at the Oak Grove cemetery at Fort Cobb.

White, who was reared in the community north of Carnegie, died suddenly about 3 a.m. Monday at his home with a heart attack. He had been in poor health since he was stricken with a heart condition September 12, 1957, while doing construction work at Tulsa. He had spent much time in the hospital but had seemed to be improving. He had seemed to be improving. He had visited in Carnegie a few weeks ago and was able to spend the Christmas holidays in Pueblo, Colo., visiting relatives.

A native of Austin, Texas, he was born August 6, 1896. He moved with his parents to the Carnegie area while still young.

He was married on January 24, 1917, to the former Miss Velma Kinnaird at Carnegie. Three children were born to them, one child, Glena Dean, died in infancy. They had been living in Bethany about 10 years.

He was a member of the Forest Hill Christian church.

His survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Loyd, Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Ike Loyd of Bethany; eight grandchildren; seven brothers, Jess of Talihina, Ben, Fort Cobb, Sam of Duncan, Homer, Burkett, Texas, Percy of Lovington, N.M., Virgil, Kermit, Texas, Vernon of Hobbs, N.M.; two sisters, Mrs. Neil Moore and Mrs. M.F. Reynolds, both of Carnegie; many nieces and nephews including Wayne Reynolds, Carnegie.

Lizzie "Mae" [Chastain] White

Lizzie Mae [Chastain] White, 100 years old, of Carnegie, Oklahoma was called home by the Lord on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Carnegie Nursing Home.

She was born September 21, 1913 to John and Lizzie [Godwin] Chastain in Lark, Oklahoma.

She was united in marriage to Lloyd White on February 11, 1939 in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, to this union was born two sons Donald Lee "Chicken" White and Doyle Edward "Skipper" White. She was a loving wife and mother.

She cooked at the Fort Cobb Cafe and the Fort Cobb Schools for several years. She enjoyed all the visits of her nieces, Phyllis, Charlette and Bettie and her many friends. She loved her care givers at the Carnegie Nursing Home. She also enjoyed doing crafts and sewing.

She is survived by nieces, Phyllis Courtney and husband, Glen of Fort Cobb, Charlette Williams and husband, Richard of Anadarko, Bettie Galindo of Anadarko, Sue [Blankenship] Davis of OK, Kay [Blankenship] Roseborough of Kellyville, OK, Patti [White] Shelite and husband, Leonard of Fort Cobb, nephews, Ronald and Ralph Blankenship both of Kellyville, Ok, Larry White and wife, Mary Ann of Frisco, TX, Terry White and wife, Nona of Fort Cobb and her family at the Carnegie Nursing Home.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lloyd White, two sons, Donald Lee White and Doyle Edward White, daughter in law, Oletha White, brothers, Clyde and Claude Chastain, sisters, Fairy Chastain, Johnnie Blankenship and Goldie Sink, niece, Jan Feldman and a nephew, Raymond Blankenship.

A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 P. M., Monday, December 23, 2013 at Fort Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating, will be Brian King, burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Fort Cobb, OK under the direction of Fort Cobb Cemetery, Fort Cobb, Oklahoma

John White was a farmer and water well driller.

Father of John Earl of Fort Cobb, James Arthur of Bethany; Alton and Everett, both of Fort Cobb; Rebecca, Fort Cobb; Wanda Horn of Chickasha; Vera Grider, Oklahoma City; Wilma Clay, Alfalfa and Frances Brooks of Anadarko; Brother of Irene Kilgrow and Pauline Mobley both of Abilene, KS.

Bobby Gene White

Bobby Gene White was born in Big Springs, Texas, to Audrey Pearl [Burns] White and Duell Frank White on January 16, 1930. He grew up in the Knott, Texas area.

Bob was a member of the Air Force and served in Korea.

He married Mary Sue Williams Edgeworth of Altus in 1956 and had two sons, Robert and Ricky White, Bob and his family loved to ride horses and participate in play days and rodeos.

Bob worked for many years as a contruction worker building roads. He took great pride in his work and was considered to be the "best" in his field.

Bob later married Penny Groth and they had a son, Bobby Gene White II.

Bob retired to Waco, Texas and then moved to Fort Cobb where he met Patricia Coombes. Pat and Bob decided to join in matrimony because of their shared love for each other, nature, classi country music and their love of animals. Bob and Pat were married on October 21, 2005. Their time may have been short together but every day was filled to the fullest. Three short years was a lifetime. Indivudually or together they made each other extremely happy and complete.

Bob enjoyed going to the sale, building things around the house, and planting trees, flowers and vegetable gardens.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Pearl White; his father, Duell Frank White' a brother, Buddy White; a sister, Dean Proctor; and great-granddaughter, Devon Nicole Kerbo.

Bob is survived by his wife, Patricia Pearl White of the gome; sons, James White of LaGrange, Texas, Robert White and wife Jeri of Willow, Ricky White and wife Sonora of Fort Cobb, Bobby Gene White II and wife Monica of Waco, Texas; brothers, Ben White of Abilene, Texas, Jerry White and wife Ann of Abilene, Texas, Don White of Weatherford, Texas; and one sister, Lee Turner of Big Springs, Texas. Bob also had the love of his step daughter, Lisa Cook and partner Teri McCabe of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Bob has numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bob went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2008. Bob left this world peacefully and surrounded by family who loved him.

Viewing will be at the Fort Cobb Funeral Home from 9 am to 8 pm through Thursday. Services are at the Highland Methodist Church at Fort Cobb with burial at the Fort Cobb Cemetery.

Glennadeane White

On Tuesday morning, Jan. 24, the Angel of Death visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. Julia White and claimed for its victim their infant daughter.

Glenno Dean was born January 21, 1933.

She leaves a father, mother, two sisters and a host of relatives to mourn her death.

Funeral services were held at the home by Rev. Harvey and Rev. Stansberry. Interment was made in the Ft. Cobb cemetery.
