William Haden Stockton

Pioneer Druggist Dies At Fort Cobb

FORT Cobb, January 19--Judge W. H. Stockton, 69, peace justice here for the past 15 years and a pioneer druggist of Alfalfa, Carnegie and Fort Cobb, died at his home here early Wednesday morning. He has been in failing health for a long time.

Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church at 2:00 pm Thursday by Rev Squyres, pastor, it was announced by the HarveyFuneral Home.

Born in Texas September 11, 1869, Mr. Stockton has been a resident of Caddo county for more than 35 years.

He is survived by his widow and three sons, Charles of Fort Cobb, Con of Sulphur, and Callie of Tulsa, of his immediate family. He also has two sisters, Mrs Elizabeth Cowan of Carnegie and Mrs Ella Hobbs of ElDorado, Kans, and a brother, Cal Stockton of Anadarko, and many other relatives.

Nora Eleanor [Stockton] Stockton

Mrs. Stockton, a native of Tennessee, came to Caddo county in 1909.

She was born January 1, 1874, and on September 17, 1891, was married to William Hayden Stockton at Oakland, Indian Territory.

The family lived at Alfalfa for several years operating a drug store there before moving to Fort Cobb.

Mrs. Stockton was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and of the Rebekah lodge. She received a 50-year pin from each organization in 1960.

She had been a member of the Fort Cobb Baptist church.

Her sons, Con Earl Stockton of Sulphur; and Cal A. Stockton of Tulsa.

Clyde Calvin Stockton

Clyde Stockton Funeral Is Held

FORT COBB--Funeral services for Clyde C. Stockton were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Fort Cobb Baptist church with Rev. Ted Ewing, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Oak Grove cemetery.

Stockton, a farmer on route 1, Fort Cobb, died Friday in Chickasha. He was born June 30, 1896, in Hopkins, Mo., and came to Caddo county in 1904.

He married the former Laura Davis at Anadarko on October 4, 1917.

He worked for the county in the road department.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Lt-Col. Floyd Stockton, Washington, D.C., Austin of Fort Cobb, and Ben, Elmore City; one daughter, Mrs. Richard Ferguson, Tulsa; two grandsons and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.
