Arthur Darrell Sears

Darrell passed away peacefully at home October 11, 2013. He was 79.

Darrell was born in Fort Cobb, OK to Arthur Sears, his best friend, and Opal Sears.

He attended elementary school there, and the family moved to Anadarko, OK, where he graduated from high school.

Darrell attended Oklahoma University and graduated in 1955 with a degree in petroleum land management. Darrell was a loyal Oklahoma Sooner sports fan and held season football tickets since attending college.

Darrell had a successful career as a landman in the oil and gas industry, a job he worked for over 40 years. Darrell traveled all over Oklahoma and enjoyed meeting people>

He often joked he probably traveled every back road in Oklahoma and knew where to eat the best Bar-B-Q. Darrell was proud to be from Oklahoma and especially his beloved Oklahoma City, never forgetting his roots in Caddo County.

Darrell was outgoing. He never met a stranger and loved to make people laugh. He lived life to its fullest. Darrell would want his family and friends to smile often, tell those you love that you do, think freely, grow, give, laugh, make some mistakes, learn from them, be kind to each other, celebrate life.

His constant companion was his dog, Puffy, who brought him so much joy. Dad, we love and miss you.
