Benjamin Franklin Orrell

Funeral Services in Fort Cobb For B. F. Orrell; Was 92

Funeral services for Benjamin Franklin Orrell were held at the Harvey chapel in Fort Cobb July 23 by Rev. Leroy Simmons, Methodist pastor, with interment in the Oak Grove cemetery.

Benjamin Franklin Orrell was born Dec. 22, 1850 at Green Forest, Ark., a son of Alpha and Susan Orrell, and passed away July 21, 1943 in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Hattie Bergdorf, at the age of 92 years and 7 months.

In 1871 he was married to Nancy Emiline Maples in Arkansas and to this union eight children were born, six girls and two boys. Three daughters, Nannie, Myrtle and Lizzie preceded him in death. His wife died in 1921.

He came to Caddo county in 1918 after having settled at Braggs, Indian Territory, in 1896, and made his home with his daughters, Mrs. Susie Bowlin and Mrs. Bergdorf. He united with the Methodist church in young manhood and remained faithful until his health prevented.

Survivors include five children, Mrs. Alice Atchison of Camargo, A.A. Orrell, Mrs. Bergdorf, W.S. Orrell, all of Fort Cobb, and Mrs. Bowlin of this place. He also leaves a brother, Jimmy Orrell of Snyder and his youngest sister, Mrs. Margaret Nunnally of Newport, Wash. There are also 32 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

Albert Alonzo Orrell

A.A. Orrell Dies At Fort Cobb Home Services Thursday

Fort Cobb. Oct 23.--A.A. Orrell, 71, active in community affairs and politics here for three decades, died at 8 p.m. Monday at his farm home south of Fort Cobb. He had been in failing health for two years.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Baptist church of Fort Cobb. Rev. Leroy Meyer, pastor, will preach the sermon. The Harvey Funeral home is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in the Fort Cobb cemetery.

Albert Alonzo Orrell was born April 5, 1880, in Carrol county, Ark.

He was married to Mary Ellen Potts Sept. 11, 1899, in Muskogee. They came to Fort Cobb in 1920 and lived in town for a while before moving to the farm south of town where they have since lived.

Freddie Joe Orrell

Freddie Joe Orrell, 74, was born September 22, 1936, south of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, to Orus and Dollie (Clift) Orrell.

He passed from this life on Monday, January 17, 2011, at his home in Anadarko, Oklahoma.

A lifetime resident of Caddo County, Freddie graduated from Broxton High School, Class of 1954.

Freddie and the former Freda Darlene Kiefer were married on August 5, 1956, in Apache. He attended Cameron University in Lawton, and transferred to Oklahoma State University, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture/Education.

He taught the Vo-Ag Program at Binger High School for 29 years, retiring in 1986. He has been a full-time rancher since, raising Hereford show cattle, which have been shown all over the United States. He loved to travel and see new places.

He enjoyed his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Freddie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Anadarko and the American Hereford Association.

His hobby was writing cowboy poetry and singing. Freddie was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Freda, on October 31, 1988. Survivors include two children, daughter Terry Willis and husband Charles of Kingfisher, and son Kent Orrell and wife Sherree of Hobart; grandchildren, Trent Willis of Kingfisher, Jarrett Orrell and Ashley Willis, both of Stillwater; great grandchildren, Eva Willis and Truett Willis, both of Kingfisher; one sister, Carolyn Lair of Anadarko; best friend, Melba Passmore of Anadarko; two nephews, Tim Evans of Lawton and Darrell Evans of Stillwater; numerous cousins and other relatives, and a wide circle of loving friends.

Funeral Service 10 am Friday, at the First Baptist Church of Anadarko, with Doug Passmore, Pastor of the First Baptist Church East, of Lawton, and Burl Mackey, Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Stroud, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Fort Cobb, under the direction of Steverson Funeral Home. Viewing at the funeral home will be until 5 pm Wednesday, and from 9 am until 9 pm Thursday.

Jackie Van Orrell

Jackie Van Orrell, 65, passed away after an extended illness at his home south of Fort Cobb, OK on Saturday, March 28th, 2015. He was born on March 21, 1950 in Chickasha, OK to Cleo and Trecia [Courtney] Orrell.

Jackie graduated from Fort Cobb High School in 1968. He earned his associate degree from Cameron University in Lawton, OK before continuing his education at OSU where he received his bachelors degree in Vocational Agriculture in 1973. He began his teaching career by doing his student teaching at El Reno and after his graduation he served as Vo Ag Instructor at Carnegie High School and at Oney High School.

Jackie lived all of his life in the Fort Cobb area where in addition to his teaching he farmed and ranched. He raised cattle, exoctic birds and Corgi's. He enjoyed country/western dancing. Jackie was a member of the Cowboy Church in Apache, OK.

He is survived by: His fiance, Joyce Inselman, Fort Cobb, OK, 2 sons: Van Alan Orrell and his wife, Lisa, Fort Cobb, OK, Their children: Jentri Mae Orrell and William Tucker Scott Orrell, Kevin Scott Orrell and his wife, Elizabeth, Fort Cobb, OK, Their children: Twins, Blain Alan and Kylie Lynn Orrell, Kaytie Renee Orrell, 1 brother; Gary Don Orrell, Fort Cobb, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo and Trecia Orrell.

Funeral Services: 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 1, 2015, Cowboy Church, Apache, OK.

Officiating: Paul Lutz.

Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery, Fort Cobb, OK.
