Virginia Jo Jenkins

Gun Discharge Is Fatal to Playmate

Grim tragedy stalked into the midst of a happy family reunion at Lone Wolf Sunday and claimed little Virginia Jo, 5-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Jenkins of Fort Cobb. The little girl was instantly killed by the accidental discharge of a shotgun in the hands of a small playmate.

The accident occurred while most of the family were seated at the dinner table, the children playing in an adjoining room having obtained the gun which was thought to have been concealed in a closet.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Fort Cobb Monday afternoon and internment made in the cemetery there.

The Jenkins family has lived in Fort Cobb for the past nine years where Mr. Jenkins is employed as night watchman.
