Bobby Lee Jay

ANADARKO Funeral for Bobby Lee Jay, 74, Fort Cobb, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2016, at Bethel Baptist Church of Anadarko with the Rev. Monte Moran officiating.

Burial will follow at Oakgrove Cemetery in Fort Cobb under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home.

Jay passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016, in Anadarko with his family by his side.

Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Comanche Nation Funeral Home.

Bobby was born March 1, 1942, in Mountain View to Rosalee Jay.

He attended Boone-Apache Schools, where he was a star athlete playing football for Apache Schools.

Following graduation, he joined the National Guard.

He married the love of his life, Ella Rose Tofpi, on March 22, 1963. They made their home in Fort Cobb and celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this year.

Bobby enjoyed fast pitch softball, golf and going to high school football and basketball games. He was an avid Thunder basketball and OU football fan, who loved spending time with his grandchildren and great -grandchildren.

He was a proud member of the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma and active in the Language and Cultural Preservation programs. He was serving as an Apache Business Committee member.

He is survived by his wife, Ella Rose, of the home; daughters: Cheryl Lynn Jay, of the home, Claudine Yvonne Moran and husband Monte, of Bixby, Barbara Lei Jay, of Killeen, Texas, and Donis Michele Jay, of Lawton; grandchildren: Bobbie Moran, of Mustang, Amber Jay, of Fort Cobb, Skye Jay, of Killeen, Texas, Chalemah Jay, of Anadarko, Maggie Jones, of Moore, Aimee Wetselline, of Fort Cobb, Alanis Jones, of Killeen, Texas, Kylei Jay, of Lawton, Keilee Jay, of Lawton and Nigel Jay, of Fort Cobb; great-grandchildren: Parker Mahsetky, Jaylen Swift, Kaleb Anquoe, Aubrey Anquoe, Elijah Whitaker, Alexis Getlin, Ashtyn Getlin, John Talaoc Jr., Avalon Thompson and Hendrix Wetselline-Lookingglass; and furry family member, Brutus Nesahkluah.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Claude Jay Nesahkluah; grandmother, May Pewo Jay; uncle, Elmer Jay, and aunts: Mary Hawkins and Virginia Jones; sister, Patricia Cisco; and brothers; Donald Tahbonemah and Elmer Jay Jr.

Pallbearers will be Nigel Jay, Jaylen Swift, Jerry Silverhorn, William Boettger Jr., Derek Tofpi, Tyler Silverhorn, David Warrior and Darren Cisco.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hammond Motah, Donnie Frank, Luke Toyebo, Jeff Topaum, Roman Johnson, Matthew Komalty, Donald Komardley, Dennis Pewo, Clifton Tofpi, Raymond Tselee, Nathan "Jumbo" Tselee, Gene Flute and Earl Palmer.
