Stephen Franklin Jackson

Jackson Services Here Tuesday, 2:30

Services for S.F. Jackson were at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Baptist church with arrangements in charge of Pitcher's. Rev. Frank Elkins preached the funeral sermon. Burial was in the Fort Cobb cemetery.

Mr. Jackson died Monday in an Anadarko hospital. Stephen Franklin Jackson was born April 10, 1868, at Downing, Mo.

He came to northern Oklahoma as a young man and a year later came to this part of the state. He has lived east of Carnegie on his farm since 1901.

He was married to Mary Elizabeth Bridwell in 1889 in Downing. Mrs. Jackson died Aug. 22, 1928.

He was converted and joined the Baptist church.

Survivors are four sons, George and Ellsberry of Fort Cobb, Robert of Medicine Park and Herbert, Santa Clara, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Aithel Courtney, Carnegie; Mrs. Flora Myers, Chickasha, and Mrs. Goldie Wiggins, Apache; three brothers, Henry, Webb City, and Jess and John, Downing, Mo., and one sister, Mrs. Sarah Protsman, Enid. Also surviving are 36 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.

S. W. "Jack" Jackson

S.W. Jackson Funeral Service Is Held Friday

Funeral services for S.W. Jackson, a resident of the community northeast of Carnegie, were held Friday in the First Baptist church, Fort Cobb. Rev. Roy Lind, pastor of the Pleasant View Baptist church, officiated. Burial was in the Oak Grove cemetery near Fort Cobb.

Jackson, a farmer of the community northeast of Carnegie since 1924, died at his home Tuesday, October 8. He was born February 22, 1879, at Spavinaw, Okla.

He was married to the former Miss Dora Keyes in 1924. One child was born to them. His wife died in 1945 and four years later he was married to Essie Wilcox at Wichita Falls, Tex.

He was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist church.

Survivors include his wife, Essie, of the home; one son, Mike, Oklahoma City; three stepsons, John and Jim Wilcox of Apache, and William Wilcox of California; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Irene Drake, Paris, France, Mrs. Lucille Reagan, Apache, and Mrs. Maxine Lawrence, Sparks, Okla.; and eight grandchildren.

J.W. Jackson Rites In Harvey Chapel

Funeral services for J.W. Jackson were held Sunday, Sept. 29, at 2:30 p.m. in the Harvey Funeral Home in Fort Cobb. Rev. S.E. Henderson, Methodist minister, preached the funeral sermon. Burial was in the Fort Cobb cemetery.

Mr. Jackson was born Feb. 20, 1876. He came with his parents to Petty, Texas, at the age of 9, and later came to Tillman county, Okla., with his mother and three brothers at the opening of the country.

He married Miss Eva Keener at Purcell, Okla., Oct. 23, 1909, and he and his family came to Caddo county in 1920.

Survivors are his widow, three sons, Ora Jackson, Ashland, Ohio; and Elmer and Hubert of Carnegie; one daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Motsenbocker, Ashland, Ohio; one brother, A.M. Jackson of Carnegie, and one sister, Mrs. Beckie Heard, of Ada.

Evelyn Mae [Sawyer] Jackson


The children of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jackson will honor their parents at a 50th Wedding Anniversary reception on December 23 at the Fort Cobb Church of Church annex.

The honorees were married December 3, 1927 at Altus.

They continued their teaching and moved south of Fort Cobb in 1948. They have lived in this same community all their married life, having moved to their present home in 1948.

They had six children, the late Roy Lee whose wife Velma lives at Choctaw, Dorothy Ann Millwee of Mountain View, Paul Jr. of Apache, Mary Jeanne Glover of Hobbs, N.M., Glenda Jean Venturella of Fort Cobb, Linda Kay Hedrick of Anadarko.

Addis Nellie [Blackwood] Jackson

Funeral Services Held Sunday For Mrs. S. A. Jackson

Services for Mrs. Stoney A. Jackson were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the First Baptist church. Rev. J.B. Shinn, officiated.

Mrs. Jackson died Thursday at the family home east of Carnegie after being in ill health the past nine years.

The former Miss Addis Nellie Blackwood was born July 28, 1912, at Nashville, Ark.

She was married to Stoney Jackson on June 17, 1945, at Chase, Kansas. The couple came to Caddo county in July after their marriage.

She was a member of the Carnegie Baptist church.

Survivors include her husband of the home; three sisters, Mrs. Dottie Riggs, Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Jack McClure, Chase, Kans., and Miss Opal Blackwood, also of Chase; and two brothers, George and Claude Blackwood, both of Seminole, Okla.

Rev Roy Lee Jackson

Funeral services for Roy Lee Jackson, 45, of Choctaw, a native of Fort Cobb, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 17. at the Barnes Church of Christ in Oklahoma City. Graveside rites and burial were held at 2 p.m. the same day at the Fort Cobb cemetery.

Hugo McCord of Oklahoma City, teacher and lecturer at Oklahoma Christian College, officiated.

Roy Lee Jackson was born October 18, 1928 at Fort Cobb.

He was married to the former Velma Owens of Fort Cobb August 14, 1949. In 1956 they moved to Choctaw where Jackson was minister of the Church of Christ the past 17 years. Prior to that he was employed as a power sales engineer with Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company over 20 years. Following his graduation from Oklahoma State university, Stillwater,

Jackson served as Captain in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was in the Reserves until 1961.

Survivors include his wife, Velma of the home; three sons, Donald of Oklahoma City, and Mark and Phillip of the home; a daughter, Deborah, of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jackson of Fort Cobb; four sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Millwee of Mountain view, Mrs. Mary Glover of Hobbs, N.M., Mrs. Glenda Teal, Fort Cobb, and Mrs. Linda Hedrick, Bristow; and a brother, Paul Junior of Apache. He was an uncle of Gene Sawyers and a nephew of Tim Millwee, both of Carnegie.

Herbert I. Jackson

Graveside service for Herman L. Jackson, 73, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Oak Grove Cemetery, north of Fort Cobb, with the Rev. James Swain, pastor, College Heights Baptist Church, Chickasha, officiating. Mr. Jackson died Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at his home. Arrangements are by Becker Funeral Home.

He was born Feb. 18, 1930, in Alden, to Robert and Alice Cleora Rogers Jackson.

He married Pauline McCarty in Lawton on Dec. 4, 1947.

He was a retired welder and attended Cameron Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; three children: John Jackson, Davenport, Iowa; Gary Jackson, Lawton; and Pamela Zelbst and her husband, Charles, Spring, Texas; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Delmas and June Jackson, Louisville, Ky.; and two sisters and brothers-in-law: Patricia and Mike Hauzer, Fremont, Calif.; and Alice Faye and Tom Hamlin, Los Angeles.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Viola O’Bryant, Roberta Day and Goldie "Shirley" Pheleps; a brother, Everett Jackson; and three grandchildren.
