John Henry Guffee

Henry Guffee Dies in Oklahoma City

Funeral services for Henry Guffee were held Monday, March 17, 1969 at Midwest City with burial at Fort Cobb Cemetery, Fort Cobb, Caddo County, Oklahoma.

John Henry Guffee was born in November 22, 1881 in Gordon, Palo Pinto, Texas and died March 14, 1969 at the age of 87 years, 4 months and 21 days.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Winnie Guffee of Gotebo, Oklahoma; children Ellen Darrow of Choctaw, Oklahoma; Alta Hill of Pensacola, Florida; and Calvin Guffee of Gotebo, Oklahoma; 31 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; four sisters, Edith Gardner, North Hollywood, California; Rena Kirkpatrick, Phoenix, Arizona; Netta Braking, Wikieup, Arizona; Pleasant Sodler, Iowa Park, Texas.

Henry Alvin "Pat" Guffee

Funeral Services For Alvin Guffee Are Held Sunday

Funeral services for Alvin Guffee were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Pitcher Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Bruce Ainsworth, Cordell, officiating. Burial was in the Fort Cobb cemetery.

Guffee, a former Carnegie resident for many years, was killed in a car wreck near Gentry, Ark. He had been living at Gentry for some time and was only four miles from home when his car and another collided. He was alone in his car at the time of the accident. He was 52 years, four months and 19 days old when he died.

Guffee was a cafe worker here for many years.

He is survived by one daughter, Emma Lena Guffee, Hobart; his father, Henry Guffee, Carnegie; a brother, Calvin Guffee, Hydro; and three sisters, Mrs. C.D. Irvin, Gotebo, Mrs. A.M. Darrow, Oklahoma City, and Mrs. George Hill, Pensacola, Fla.

Thomas C. Guffee

Guffee Rites At Fort Cobb

Funeral service for Thomas C. Guffee, 67, of Verden were at 2 p.m. last Wednesday in the Assembly of God Church at Fort Cobb with James Fletcher, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Fort Cobb Cemetery under the direction of People's Funeral Home of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma.

Guffee died Saturday in his home at Verden after a short illness.

He was born at Mountain View May 27, 1910. He had lived in the Verden area the past year.

Survivors include five daughters, Della Palmertree of Verden, Bonnie Duke of Cordell, Mary Duncan, Rosa Guffee and Sharon Guffee, all of Fort Cobb; six sons, Carl, Donnie and Tommy, all of Verden, and James, Bobby and Larry, all of Fort Cobb; two sisters, 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
