Melvin H. Groves

Melvin Hollis Groves, only son of Mr. and Mrs. G.H. Groves, was born October 17, 1927 near Fort Cobb, and departed from this life January 16, 1930 at the home of his parents north of Fort Cobb at the age of two years, two month and 29 days.

He was a sweet dispositioned child, loved by all who knew him. His death was a great shock to everybody for he was always so strong and healthy, being struck instantly with bronchitis croup, living only about twelve hours.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday evening, January 18, at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R.B. McQueen. Rev. C.C. Christian conducted the services and interment was made in the Oak Grove cemetery under the direction of the Harvey funeral home of Fort Cobb.

He leaves to mourn him, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G.H. Groves; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Groves and Mr. and Mrs. R.B. McQueen; besides a host of aunts, uncles and many friends.
