Thomas P. Cotter

Services At Ft. Cobb For Thos. Cotter

Thomas P. Cotter, owner of the J.W. Reece farm four miles north of Carnegie from the opening of the country until 1913, died at his home in Fort Cobb November 16, at the age of 76 years and 21 days.

Funeral services were held in the Fort Cobb Methodist church at 2:30 Friday afternoon by R.E. Harvey assisted by F.M. Simpson, Methodist pastor, and burial was made in the Fort Cobb cemetery.

He was a member of the Methodist church and had taught the men's Bible class for years.

Many early-day friends from Carnegie attended the services.

Mr. Cotter was born at Sidney, Ill. He was married to Margaret Bailey at Washington, Iowa Sept. 4, 1889 and to them six children were born, all of whom with the widow survive. The children are Thomas R. Cotter, Casper, Wyo.; John Cotter, Little Rock, Ark.; Mrs. Leona Terrell, Oklahoma City; Mrs. Justine Fielden, Fort Cobb; Mrs. Marie Hoffman, Fautana, Calif., and Lawrence Cotter, Los Angeles, Calif. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Possessed of a ready Irish smile, Uncle Tom had the happy faculty of never losing a friend, Mr. Harvey said in his sermon.

Thomas R. Cotter

Thomas R. Cotter, 75, of Casper, Wyo., was a pioneer resident of the Carnegie area.

He came to the community north of town in 1902 and settled on the farm now owned by G.E. Reece. He later was a resident of the Fort Cobb area, before moving to Casper.

He was a veteran of World War I.

His sisters, Mrs. Leona Terrell of Oklahoma City; Mrs. R.L. Fielden, Fort Cobb and Mrs. Ralph Hoffman of Livermore, Calif.; two brothers, John of Little Rock, Ark., and Lawrence of Los Angeles.
