Sallie Ann [Hash] Bentley
Mrs. Bentley Dies At Old Home Saturday
Sallie Margaret Hash was born in Adrain county, Mo. September 13, 1868 and passed away at the family home October 11, 1940 at the age of 72 years and 28 days.
She was married to Robert E. Bentley December 28, 1890 at Gentry, Mo. and to this union seven children were born, four boys and three girls, six of whom survive.
Mr. and Mrs. Bentley lived at Gentry, Mo. until coming to Oklahoma in August, 1901. In 1902 they homesteaded their present homesite. One December 28 of this year Mr. and Mrs. Bentley would have observed their 50th wedding anniversary, and their children were happily contemplating plans for this memorable occasion.
At an early age Mrs. Bentley united with the Christian church and lived a devoted, consistent Christian life.
She had been in ill health since April of this year. She gradually weakened in strength and a few weeks ago became bedfast.
Surviving are her husband, three daughters, Margaret, Anadarko; Mrs. Buford Gordon, Pampa, Texas; Mrs. Elbert Thomas, Wichita Falls, Texas; three sons, Noble and C.B. of Fort Cobb, and Billie of Anadarko; one sister, Mrs. George Etter, Gentry, Mo.; three brothers, C.B. Nash, Gentry,m Mo., who is in St. Joseph hospital suffering from injuries in a car wreck; Grover Hash, McCall, Mo., and Frank Hash of Haskell, Okla.; ten grandchildren and many other relatives and friends who cannot be numbered, for everyone who knew Mrs. Bentley was a lifelong friend.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon. |
