John Floyd Curtright Jr
June 23, 1930 ~ November 18, 2011


John Floyd Curtright, Jr. of Apache, Oklahoma was born June 23, 1930 in Apache, OK to John Floyd, Sr. and Dixie Coy [Taylor] Curtright. He passed away at his home on November 18th at the age of 81.

John married Patsy Ann Hatfield on October 11, 1957 in Henrietta TX.

John worked for the Town of Apache as the Water Superintendant for most of his life, after he retired, he continued working as a consultant for the Water Departmen

He was a member of the Apache Fire Department and served as the fire chief before retiring from the department. He was a member of the VFW and the First Christian Church.

In 1997 John was given a Key to the City of Apache. In October of 2002, he was the first person awarded the "Town Treasure" by the Apache Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture. He was also a member of the 2nd Century Hall of Fame.

John's favorite pastime was fishing, and spent many days fishing with his friends.

Survivors include: His wife, Pat, of the home; 3 Daughters and their husbands - Becky and Larry Donnell Apache, OK, Beverly and Charlie Lewis Petal, MS, Karen and Steve Jaques Yukon, OK; 7 grandchildren - Clint Donnell, Clay Donnell, Marcie Olague, Michelle Formby, Aaron Jaques, Heather Jaques, Tiffany Brown; 11 great-grandchildren - Skylar Donnell, Sophia Donnell, Cash Donnell, Mikayla Anderson, Sofia Olague, Chayse Formby, Leah Formby, Rowan Jaques, Lakynn Jaques, Kailee Jaques, Piper Brown; 2 sisters - Nadine Vandiver Weatherford, OK and Shirlie and husband, Eddie Dykes Apache, OK

He was preceded in death by: His parents and 2 sisters- Kathryn Brown and LaRue Mobbs

Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 21st at 2:00 P.M. at the First Christian Church with Pastor Bill Hugueley officiating.

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home.
