Eugene Glenwood "Gene" "Sarge" Collins
May 25, 1916 ~ March 9, 2013


Eugene Glenwood Collins was born May 23, 1916 in Tahlequah, OK to Benjamin Harrison and Alma S. [James] Collins. He passed away March 9th in Henryetta, OK at the age of 96.

After graduating from high school, he entered the Army in 1940 where he served for 21 years, including World War II and Korea, as a mechanic and retiring with the rank of Staff Sergeant.

He married Nellie Marie Mullis on September 13, 1947 in Wichita Falls, TX. She preceded him in death on March 21, 2009.

After his retirement, he and his wife moved to Apache where he worked as a school bus driver for the Apache School District.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Sarge served on the Apache Town Board and headed up the Purple Martin Society.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and bird watching. He also played harmonica.

He is survived by: 1 stepson and his wife - Bob and Clemmie Guynn Hanna, OK; 1 daughter - Lois Snodgrass Apache, OK; 7 grandchildren - Kimberly and husband, Buddy Foster; Randall Selleck; Steven and wife, Kenna Guynn; Renee Piper; Luna and husband, Tommy Burns; Tammie Jason, Lori Snodgrass; 10 great-grandchildren - Jonathan Foster, Vanessa McCool, Clint Selleck, Jacob Montgomery, Aaron Guynn, Holden Guynn, DeeNa Womble, Thomas Burns, Michael Zumwalt, Tyler Zumwalt; 6 great-great grandchildren - Miranda, Ayden, Asher, Dillon, Jesse, Tristan; 3 brothers - Darwin Collins Salina, OK; Stanley Collins Sallisaw, OK; Ewell Dean and wife, Jenny Collins London, England

He was preceded in death by: His wife- Marie Collins; 1 step-daughter- Darla Jane Selleck; 1 grandson- David Gene Guynn; 1 granddaughter- Kathryn Selleck; 1 great-great granddaughter - Allora Widner; 5 brothers - Benjamin Collins, Jr; Alton Collins, Boyce Collins, Leighton Collins, Herbert Collins; 4 sisters- Leona Wylie, Modelle Raney, Geneva Collins, Charlene Collins.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 13th at 2:00 P.M. at Fairview Cemetery in Apache with Reverend Rue Scott officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Crews Funeral Home.

Nellie Marie [Mullis] Collins
August 27, 1920 ~ March 21, 2009


Nellie Marie Mullis-Collins of Apache, Oklahoma was born on August 27, 1920 in Lindsey, OK to James D. and Nellie Edna [Nesmith] Mullis. She passed away at the age of 88 on March 21st in Apache, OK.

Growing up, she attended the Silver Moon School northwest of Carnegie, OK.

She met and married BH Guynn.

She worked in the military's Quarter Master Laundry in Alaska and Texas. She also did upholstery for a few years.

Marie enjoyed gardening and sewing.

She later married Eugene Glenwood Collins on September 13, 1947 in Wichita Falls, TX. They moved to Apache and she lived here for 61 years.

She was a faithful member of the Living Faith Christian Center in Apache. She has taught Bible Study and Sunday School classes for many years. With her knowledge of the Bible and her faith in God, Marie was a great role model to her family and her church.

Survivors include: Her husband, Eugene Collins; One son - Bobby Dewain Guynn and his wife Clemmie Hanna, OK; One daughter - Lois Janet Snodgrass and her husband, Eddy Apache, OK; 8 Grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Her Special friends - Colleen Irvin and Juanita Redd.

She was preceded in death by: Her parents; 1 daughter - Darla Jane Selleck; 1 grandson- David Gene Guynn; 1 great-great granddaughter - Allora Widner; 4 brothers - James D. Mullis John Edward Mullis, Howard Lee Mullis,William "Bill" Mullis; 3 sisters - Bessie Pritchard, Irene Davis, Maxine Walton.

Services for Marie Collins will be held Tuesday, March 24th, at 2:00 P.M. at the Living Faith Christian Center in Apache with Rev. Ponce Leon officiating.

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home.
