Ouida Lee [Richards] Collier
October 16, 1926 ~ September 1, 2017


Funeral service for Ouida Lee Collier will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 6, 2017 in Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with her son, Larry Stewart, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Apache.

Ouida Lee Collier, age 90, Lawton, died Friday, September 1, 2017 in Lawton.

She was born October 16, 1926 in Cottonwood, Alabama to Brady and Mertis Marie Richards.

She grew up in Alabama and married Odell Stewart in 1941. The couple later divorced and she would remarry William Collier who preceded her in death.


Ouida lived in Texas for many years. She had worked as a department store clerk, sold insurance and worked as a waitress in some of the finest restaurants. She moved to Lawton many years ago and worked at Rocket Pawn and Jewelry for several years.

She was also a song writer and wrote poems.

She was a Baptist, enjoyed art and painting and had been active with the Center for Creative Living.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Beavers, Lawton; two sons, Larry Stewart, Donalsonville, Georgia and Terry Stewart, Columbiana, Alabama; six grandchildren, Paul McWilliams, Kim Priest, Mark Stewart, Scott Stewart, Jenny Evans and Kim Jones; 16 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and her sister, Juanita Richards Baker, Princeton, Kentucky.

Her sister, Nellie Ruth Barnes, her granddaughter, Ouida, and a special cousin, Addys Ray, preceded her in death.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Dan Horton and the Staff of McMahon Tomlinson Nursing Center for the care given to Mrs. Collier.
