Graveside service for Helen Francis Alley, age 92 of Chickasha, OK, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2013 in the Fairview Cemetery in Apache, OK.

Hellen Francis was born the daughter of Frank and Lou Penny on December 19, 1920 in Apache. She passed away at the Glenhaven Nursing/Retirement Village in Chickasha on September 25, 2013.

She married Freddie Alley on July 27, 1938 in Fletcher, OK. To this marriage were born two children, Marilynn and Larry.

Hellen sold Avon, baked her special angle food cakes, ran a wringer type laundry, was a bookkeeper for Miller's Apco Station, and completed her employed years as a bookkeeper for the Cyril Nursing Home. She attained her Administrators Certificate for Nursing Homes and planned to work there forever but her health caused her retirement.

She was saved in her youth and was a devout Christian. Hellen attended Midway Church and taught Sunday School and helped in other areas as needed. She taught an Adult Sunday School class at the Cyril Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed her grandsons, loved cooking for them and instilled in them her Christian values. She will be missed but we will all see each other again in that wonderful place God has provided for his children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie of 66 years; her parents, Frank and Lou Penny; brother, Frank"Sonny" Penny; sister, Ida Ruth Goings; grandmother, Della Johnson; two nephews, Jimmy Raye and Jack Goings; niece, Judy Hart; two special sisters-in-law.

Hellen is survived by her children, Marilynn and spouse, Wayne Patton of Cyril; Larry and spouse, Sherri Alley of Bethany; four grandsons, Lonnie Miller of Tonkawa, Freddie Miller and spouse, Kim of Ponca City, Dannie Miller and spouse, Kyla of Oklahoma City, and Logan Alley of Bethany; two great granddaughters, Lindsey and spouse, Nic Dark of Bridgecreek and Lesley and spouse, Kevin Engle of Glenpool; great grandson, Addison Miller of Atlanta, GA; two great great granddaughters, McKinley and Taylen Dark; great great grandson, Kasen Engle; one brother, Jack Penny and spouse Mary Francis of Forney, TX; several nieces and nephews in Texas; close cousin, Lena Meyer of Lawton.

Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
