© Aldine Funeral Chapel Houston, Texas June 17, 2014 July 17, 1934 ~ June 17, 2014 Funeral services for Donna Jean Edge Butler were held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at First Caddo Baptist Church, Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, 73038. A burial service was held at the Edge Family cemetery in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma after the funeral service. A meal was served at First Caddo Baptist Church after burial service; pot luck items were welcomed. Ms. Butler passed away June 17, 2014, at West Houston Medical Center in Houston, Texas, with her family and best friend at her side. Donna Jean Edge was born in Scott, Oklahoma on July 17, 1934, daughter of Amy Johnson and Frank Edge. She was united in marriage to Edward Butler on November 13, 1952. He preceded her in death on December 9, 2003. They were married for 51 blissful years. Donna graduated with a diploma from Southwest Counseling and Testing Center in Houston, Texas, before receiving her cosmetology license from the State of Texas. She retired from JCPenney after working as a hair stylist for twenty years. After retirement, Donna was employed part-time at Laura's Hair Design. Many of the activities she enjoyed are spending time with family, gardening, crocheting, sewing, and playing bingo and visiting casinos. She is survived by her sisters, Kathy and Sarah Edge; sons, John Butler, Humble, Texas, Quintin and David Butler, Houston, Texas and Brent Butler, Austin, Texas; one daughter, Deanna (Butler) Bates, Houston, Texas. Four grandsons, Dewayne Abbey, David Jr., Michael Butler, Brent E. Butler; four granddaughters, Angela Butler, Erica Bates, Joanne and Julianne Butler. Nephews, Donnie Frank, Elvern Edge Jr.; Nieces, Maureen Owings, Lavinia Pau-Kune, Shirley Willis, and Janice Maxwell. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Ronald Wayne Butler in 2013, and a sister, Joella Johnson in May 2014, numerous siblings, Frank Edge, Elizabeth Edge Bentley, Elvern Edge Sr., Ellen Williams, Ruby Edge Resoff, Grace Stamp, Jocelyn Edge, Noah Frank, Thelma Whitewolf, Velma Edge, Gerald Edge, Willard Shaw and Marie Edge. Nephew, Doyle Edge; Nieces, Debra Johnson and Joyce Edge. Donna will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
