Funeral Services For W.C. Swarts Held AT Cement

Funeral services for W.C. Swarts, 88, an early-day resident of the Alden community who died in Midwest City Memorial hospital, were held August 23 at the Cement First Methodist church.

His nephew, Russell Swarts, Mrs. Swarts and Mrs. S.S. Ferrell, all of Carnegie, attended the funeral.

Swarts, a brother of the late Fred Swarts of Carnegie, taught school at Alden and operated the former Bess Ferguson of Carnegie, moved to Cement in 1920. He operated a gin there until his retirement about 12 years ago.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Houseworth, Irving, Tex. and Mrs. Dorothy Bussy, Oklahoma City.

Baby Swarts

Swarts Baby Dies

The many Carnegie friends of Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Swarts of Cement, will sympathize with them in the death of their infant child, born Sunday, Sept. 12. The baby lived only a few hours.

The funeral was held the 13th, Rev. Denny conducting the service at the Cement cemetery.

Chancy J. Swarts Jr

Funeral service for Chancy J. "Junior" Swarts, Jr., 90, of Cement, Oklahoma, will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at the Assembly of God Church of Cement, with Lindell Warren, Missions Director for the Assemblies of God Churches of Oklahoma, officiating.

Mr. Swarts passed away on Sunday, June 1st, 2014, in Lawton.

Burial will be at Cement Cemetery.

He was born on April 14th, 1924, in Cement, Oklahoma, to Chancy J. Swarts, Sr. and Lillie Cecil [Harris] Swarts. He grew up, attended school and graduated from high school in Cement. He began working in the Oil Fields during high school and continued for many years until his retirement. He then enjoyed spending his time doing lawn mower repair and visiting with friends. He married Mary Bond on April 15, 1955, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

He enjoyed working in his garden, fishing and hunting and got his first turkey on his 80th. birthday. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of the Assembly of God of Cement.

He is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law, Yvonne and Bill Doby, Cement, Therease and Galen Dacus of Fletcher, and Sherry Prather and Frank, of Cement; life-long friend, Fran Saccente of the home; sister, Billie Jean Tayloe, Bumpus Mills, TN; eight grandchildren: Avery Swarts, Elgin, Chancy Dacus and wife, Katrina, Fletcher, Rodney Swarts, Cement, Kimberly Rumley and husband, Dustin, Cement, Jennifer Bowlin and husband, Chris, Cement, Will Doby and wife, Lyndsay, Cement, Shane Doby, Crosby, TX, and Rocky Doby and wife, Ada, Crosby, TX; 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a great granddaughter, Kadra Berry, and three brothers and three sisters.

Viewing will be at the Assembly of God in Cement from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
