William Edward Morton Sr

William Edward Morton, SrOf Cyril, OK Was born September 10, 1939 in Roswell, NM to Charles Edward and Mayme Marie [Clift] Morton. He passed away April 9, 2017 in Anadarko, OK at the age of 77.

Bill entered the Air Force in 1961, he served as a weather forecaster until his retirement in 1982.

He married Marla Lucile Williams on November 1, 1963 in Las Vegas, NV. She preceded him in death on November 10, 2015.

After his years of military service, he continued to work in Civil Service.

Bill enjoyed several hobbies, including coin collecting, assembling models, saltwater fishing and carpentry, he even did his own home remodeling projects and tinkering around with other projects.

He was also a big OU Football Fan. A family man, he loved spending time with his kids and grandchildren. According to his family, Bill loved his service to his country, his wife, family, God, his animals, OU Football and eating at Golden Corral.

He is survived by: 3 sons and their wives - William Edward and Sarah Morton, Jr. Winfield, KS David Woodward and Elizabeth Morton Norman, OK Raymond Clarence and Jenny Morton Cyril, OK 14 grandchildren - Joey and Rhonda Morton; Baillie Morton, Logan Lawrence, Cassidy Lawrence, Markie Morton, Kirstie Morton, Haillie Lucile Morton, Michael Vaughn, Cadelia Vaughn, Kevin and Devin Vaughn; Sierra Vaughn, William and Haylee Morton; Carlie Morton, Corinne Morton 7 great-grandchildren - Zoey Morton, Tyler Morton, Koby Morton, Kayley Morton, Attie Morton, Lyndsee Vaughn, Leeam Vaughn 1 brother and his wife- Gary and Joann Morton Anadarko, OK Numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: His parents His wife, Marla Morton.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 14th at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Cement with Pastor Casey Fine officiating and assisted by Walt Pearcy.

Burial with military honors will follow at Cement Cemetery under the direction of Cyril Funeral Home.
