February 2016 Helen B. [Davis] Ely Graveside service for Helen B. [Davis] Ely, 93, of Cyril, Oklahoma, will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2016, at the Cement Cemetery with Brother Raymond McPherson, officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral Home. Arrangements are being handled by the Fletcher Funeral Home. Mrs. Ely passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016, at her home in Cyril, Oklahoma at the age of 93. Helen B. [Davis] Ely was born February 4, 1923 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Roy and Pearl [Smith] Davis. She attended a little country school in between Anadarko and Cement until the 8th grade before finishing up at Anadarko Schools. After high school, Helen married Curtis Ely and the two started a family. They moved out of the country while Curtis worked in the oilfield. They moved back to the states in 1957 and lived in Rockford, IL. Helen and Curtis moved to Cement in 1982 and then later Ninnekah and Marlow where they owned and operated Ely’s Antiques for 17 years. After the couple retired, they moved to Cyril in 2006. Helen was a member of the Cement Assembly of God Church for around 15 years. She enjoyed antiquing and going to garage sales, cooking, singing, and being with her family. Helen was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her daughter, Deanna Johnson, of Cyril; 1 grandson, Jeffrey Johnson, of the home; 2 great granddaughters: Tara Lynn Doane and Talaina Willis; 1 great grandson, Lonnie Jones; and 5 great great grandchildren: Tyler Rainwater, Caleb Rainwater, Braden Anderson, Jacob Willis, and Nicole Willis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Ely; parents: Roy and Pearl Davis; 1 daughter, Tressa Ann Wright; 1 grandson, Curtis Leonard Johnson; and 2 granddaughters: Vicki Jo Jones and Gwenlyn Renee` Johnson. |
