Lester Alvin "Al" Dean

Graveside service for Lester Alvin "Al" Dean, 91, Cement, well be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Cement Cemetery with his granddaughter, Angela Cole of Norman, Oklahoma officiating.

Mr. Dean went to be with the Lord Saturday in a Chickasha nursing home.

Burial will be in the Cement Cemetery under the direction of Becker Cement Chapel, formerly Robbins Funeral Home.

He was born September 21, 1915 in Cement, Oklahoma to John Walter and Carrie Belle [Gibson] Dean.

He married his loving wife of 62 years, Fern Weaver on June 13, 1942 in Chickasha.

She went to be with the Lord on June 7. 2004.

He was raised in Cement and lived in the Cyril/Cement area all of his life.

He owned Deans Food Store in Cement. He served in the United States Army during WW II.

Survivors include: daughter: Jo Ann Anthony and husband James of Cement; sister: Dorothy Igo, Lexington, OK; brother: Elmer Dean, Walworth, WI; three grandchildren: Angela Cole and husband Russell, Norman, OK; Jimmy Ihle and wife Keri, New Castle, OK; and Craig Anthony, Wichita, KS; four great grandsons: Russell Dean Cole, Wil Ihle, Caleb Ihle, and Leo Anthony; and a great granddaughter: Marissa Elliott. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by: two brothers: Lloyd and Johnny Dean and two sisters: Neta Lewis and Opal Dean.

Funeral services for Fern Dean, 80, of Cement, Okla., are pending with Hodge Funeral Home, Fletcher, Okla. Fern Dean died on Monday, June 7, 2004, in a Chickasha nursing center.

Rose Fern [Weaver] Dean

Graveside services for Fern [Weaver] Dean, 80, of Cement, will be Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. in the Cement Cemetery. A eulogy will be presented by her granddaughter, Angela Cole of Norman. Mrs. Dean died Monday, June 7, 2004, in a Chickasha nursing center.

She was born June 15, 1923 in Ft. Cobb to Clive Weaver and Lena (Cadell) Weaver. Fern grew up in Anadarko graduating from Anadarko High School in 1941.

She married Al Dean, June 13, 1942, in Chickasha. They had lived in Anadarko, Apache, and Cyril before moving to Cement in 1963, and had lived there since.

Fern was a housewife, but they had owned and operated Dean's Food Store in Cement for many years; she had also worked for Hermetic Switch of Chickasha.

Fern was a member of the First Baptist Church, Cement.

Survivors include her husband, Al, of the home, a daughter, Jo Ann Anthony and her husband, James, of Cement. Grandchildren: Jimmy Ihle of Cement, Angela Cole and her husband, Russell, of Norman and Craig Anthony of Kansas. Great grandchildren: Russ Cole of Norman, Wil and Caleb Ihle of Choctaw, Leo Anthony of Kansas. Nephews: Mack Schoonover of Anadarko, Cheryl Weaver of Anadarko, Eddie Weaver of Ft. Worth, TX, Danny Weaver and his wife, Dorinda, of Norman, Mike Weaver of Swampscott, MA, and Aneta Keller of Grangeville, Idaho, and many other friends. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Chickasha, 301 S. 2nd, Chickasha, OK 73018.
