© Caddo County Tribune Page 6 Anadarko, Oklahoma Thursday, January 1, 1931 ? ~ December 27, 1930 Bellaltereta, probably the oldest member of the Kiowa-Apaches, died early Saturday at the home of friends, West of town. Like many of the older Indians of this section, her exact age is unknown, but according to reports obtainable, she was nearing the century mark. Funeral rites were held Sunday with interment in the Cache Creek Mission Cemetery, where many of her tribesmen are restfully awaiting transition into are the happy hunting grounds. The deceased leaves many relatives to mourn her passing. |
