Richard Arguelles Banderas

APACHE ~ Funeral for Richard Arguelles Banderas, 79, Apache, will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Apache Reformed Church in Apache, with Pastor Santiago Ponce Leon officiating.

Richard went to meet his Lord Saturday, July 28, 2012, in Lawton.

Burial will be at Cache Creek KCA Cemetery, Apache.

Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Comanche Nation Funeral Home Chapel.

He was born to Francisco and Henrietta Arguelles Banderas on Aug. 5, 1932, in Oxnard, Calif.

He married Martha Tsatahsisko Archilta on Oct. 30, 1954.

Richard enjoyed eating ice cream and cake and watching and listening to Mexican movies and old comics.

He was all he could be for the U.S. Army.

Richard was a member of Mulkehey Church in Boone.

He worked for the City of Lawton Landfill Department for many years. He is survived by seven generations: daughters: Danita Lyn Banderas Washa, of Boone; Felepia Marie Banderas, of Apache; and Tania Sue Banderas, and Terri Dawn Banderas, both of Anadarko; his sons: Richard Martin Banderas, of Anadarko; Freddy Lee Banderas Sr., of Lawton; Russell Wayne Banderas, of Apache; and Ricky Alan Banderas, of Lawton; his adopted sons: Dennis L. Hernandez, of Sterling; Donald Gleason, of Dallas; and Chris Case, of Goodrich, Tenn.; one adopted daughter, Carolyn Marie Williams Hixon, his nino, 97 years-old, Tia Antonia Diellilio, 84 years-old, Tio Marcello Arguelles; sisters: Pearl Cardenas, Mona Martinez, and Mary Barron; his brothers: Tony Jaramillo, Freddy Jaramillo, Victor Jaramillo, and Manuel Jaramillo; 39 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; godmother Concha; special cousins: Donald Arguelles and Fabien Diellilo; special nephew, Jimmy Vincent Martinez; sister in-law, Sandra Stewart; family members in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, and Kansas: the Arguelles, Cortez, Jaramillo and Martinez; many nieces and nephews; and one special friend, Guero Hernandez.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Tsatahsisko; daughter, Victoria June Banderas; sons: Danny Len Banderas and Sandy Len Banderas; parents; grandfather, Antonio Flores Arguelles; grandmother, Dolores Castaneda Rodrigues; brother, John Paul Cortez; granddaughter, Alice Jean Banderas; grandson, Christopher James Banderas; Daryl Keith "DJ" Simmons Jr., and Dallas Reyna; mother in-law, Julia Mulkehay; father in-law, Freddie Tsatahsisko; nieces: Melissa Jaramillo, Natalene Pace and Julie Marroquin; nephews: Rocco Pace Jr., Lewis Wayne Reyna, Nathan Pace, and Larry Dale Stewart; in-laws, Mary and Rocco Pace Sr. and Imogene and Reno Emilio Reyna.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
